Actually clippers make me nervous as I am always afraid I will clip to much or the baby will move and I will hurt her. I decided to give this electric nail trimmer a shot to see if it was any better. I did feel alot less stress that I would hurt her however it was a little difficult to get her to stay still long enough for me to get all the nails filed down. I could have used a stronger grit and a higher speed but I wanted to take it slow. It did exactly what it was supposed to do and filed the length of the nail down. There are a few different tip options. The machine is quiet and didnt scare her when I used it. I bought this trimmer in the hope it'll help me and guess what!! it did!! a lot!! I was trimming his nails while he is up playing!!! I'm so thankful for it. I just used it ones so I don't know how long it will last and the other stuff. one thing that bothers me which is understandable at the same time; is it'll stop every time it touches the skin which for newborns it's hard to get their finger skin away from their nail so the trimmer works. but it's manageable.
