Nelco Scholastic Iron Shot Put - 6LBS (2-Pack)

I purchased this for my Youth AAU track & field club. This shot was used in AAU and USA Track mix it passed the regulation standards the price is very reasonable and is of great quality. I would defenitely recommend this product

My daughter is in 7th grade and we wanted her to be able to practice shot put at home without spending a fortune. I was leery because another mom had gotten her daughter shot puts and spent a small fortune. What a nice surprise when they came in. They are perfect for anyone wanting to practice at home.

Just as described by the seller and customer reviews. What can I say, it's a silver led ball; looks great out of the box and my daughter has really enjoyed using it for track & field practice. In the two months we've had this shot put, she has improved her throwing distance 5 feet(this is in no way a reflection of this product) but using it at home has really helped my daughter get better at throwing in competitions. I knew that for the price I was not expecting a great quality shot put, but I really didn't expect the coating to be scraping off after maybe 4 total practices at an actual shot put pit. This was purchased for an elementary and middle school team of less than 10 shot put participants, who only practiced with it for about 20-30 min during a maximum of four practices. It will probably rust now too, but serves our purpose at this point. Next time we'll get something better. i have an 8# un-coated cast iron shot which I would rather have to season than to have the coated which is peeling and can't be.

I have never thrown a shot put and know absolutely nothing about the sport. I purchased two of these to use as big, heavy dexterity balls to increase my grip strength. This was an idea that I got from the book the Neuro Grip Challenge. It is great and challenging exercise that thoroughly taxes your fingers, wrists and forearms. These things are inexpensive and ideal for this exercise. Thanks for a solid product.

The price WAS too good to be true. The shot put started out shiny & silver. Just after 2 practices with 6th grade girls in a regulation meet shot put area, it is full of cracks, holes, and chips. It was not ever dropped on any concrete or other hard material... I was with it the whole time it was used. It now resembles a cratered meteor. The school shot put that’s been around for 20 years doesn’t look half this bad.

Exactly as described and gives my son the chance to practice Shot Put when not at school. I searched all over looking for a shot put, I should have known Amazon would have it and I got with Prime shipping. Very happy

Used these with practice for Special Olympics. It was great all my athletes got either 1st or 2nd place!
