Great Blender
Okay, this blender doesn't last very long, maybe a year. I've already had three of these blenders and that's because when they're working they work very well. I now have a KitchenAid blender that I'm getting ready to put in the cabinet because I'm going to order ANOTHER Oster blender, simply because the Oster blender is easier to clean and use.Let me explain. The Oster blender chops and blends ice very well for the shakes I drink each morning. I screw the bottom off, take out the gasket, wash every thing and reassemble it. When I add my shake mix and vitamins, it mixes them up at the bottom of the blender. It also has several speeds that also work very well. The KItchenaid blender does blend well, but it WILL NOT start off slow. Everything I put in it whizzes up to the top and sticks to the rubber top, which I then have to scrape off, back into the blender. When I put my chocolate protein shake mix into the blender, with my rice milk, press the mix button, it starts off very fast and all of my protein-shake mix goes straight to the top of the blender and, yes, it sticks to the rubber top, which I then have to scrape off, back into the blender. There's no way this blender can ever start blending slowly. This is the main complaint that I have. In order to get my shake mix into the blender without it getting all over the rubber top, I have to take the glass part out of the top and pour in my shake, which then splatters all over my kitchen cabinet doors, which I then have to clean. All in all, I hate this blender and I'll order as many Oster blenders as I have to to avoid all of the mess I have to deal with using the Kitchenaid Blender, number KSB465WH, 4-speed countertop blender with 48 oz. polycarbonate jar, white.

Bargain price, excellent blending
There are a few bad reviews for the blender, but as the price was good I decided to take a risk. Had it a few months now and I am a big fan.Negative points first. The buttons are very flimsy feeling. I wish Oster had raised the price by a couple of dollars and fitted buttons that donโt feel like theyโre about to rattle out of the housing. Thatโs it though!Positives: Nicely made glass jug, smooth pouring spout, excellent blending, high quality drive (no plastic bits to snap - take note Kenwood), multiple speed settings and classic blender styling. Throw in availability of spare parts and itโs a full 5 stars from me.

Great blender
I bought for my mom as a gift. I have used mine for several years and it works great and is so versatile. I would never purchase anything but an Oster blender. I have never had to replace any parts but if I ever do I know I can find them as well as different blades if I want them. Only one down side is the noise level, can be loud. It doesn't take much time to get your results so no problem for me, well worth it.

Great blender.
The blending power is strong and I love that the speeds are easily adjustable during the blending process. One con I noticed is that the blender tends to leak at the bottom despite the fact that all the parts are connected tightly. I notice this mostly when I add water to the blender when trying to rinse it out after a recent blend.

Okay. . .
I bought this for general use and making smoothies. It blends well and is reasonably quiet, but it has no pouring spout to speak of and it is nearly impossible to pour from without dripping. Also, the raised markings for the measurements are on the inside of the carafe, which is annoying because it's hard to see them and you can't find them by touch. [Pet peeve: I bought this to replace a year-old blender of a different brand whose glass carafe broke. I would have bought a replacement carafe, if I could have found one. The motor worked perfectly well. I wonder how many small appliances enc up in landfills because replacement parts are hard to get?]

Affordable little smoothie workhorse
I owned the prior version of this model and, when it finally broke down after a few years of use, I went straight back to the Oster well. This new version is better in a few respects. It has way more power and thus mixes my smoothies much faster. It also has a few more feature buttons that work perfectly for smoothies. I don't use ice. I use frozen fruit with greens and juice so I can't speak to how it works with ice. As long as you have enough liquid in the blender, it instantly crushes and blends with great efficiency. The older version took a while to chomp up all the leafy greens. If you are looking for a cheap blender to make smoothies with frozen fruit, you have found it. Only nitpicky thing I can say is the top is a little too flexible. It's not as easy as the last model to fit it on perfectly. That in no way changes my mind on this blender. It is a minor defect that doesn't affect the creation of perfect smoothies every time.

My second blender in about 30 years!
It's almost identical to my old one so I can interchange the jars :) I think that they updated the label on the button section, that's the only difference I can see. I moved and, so far, haven't found the bottom section. I use it every day so I wanted to find it fast. A friend loaned me her old Black and Decker one, and it worked fine but nowhere near as powerful. After about a week, the glass broke! Now I had to replace her blender, so I bought two, one for her and one for me. I was so surprised that it is the same as my old one and have been using both the new and old jar :)

Excellent quality at a great price
Very well made. The gears that connect the base to the blade are metal; many of the newer blenders have substituted plastic and they are not nearly as sturdy. Blades are sharp enough to easily puree frozen fruit into smoothees, Also does an excellent job of grating carrots and other vegetables for slaw. The container is a nice heavyweight glass rather than the cheap plastic so many are made with these days. Disassembles and assembles easily and all parts are dishwasher safe.I had looked around quite a bit before buying this and it was by far the best value.
