I got this thinking I might have one or two pieces looking like the picture. There were few aquarium gravel sized pieces, the majority of them were large enough to identify emeralds hiding within(one even had a very small very well defined dark green emerald blazing within), and the creamy green stones were masterpieces. I have used the tiny pieces in a bamboo tip fountain I have, because they were so pretty, too pretty to filter into a discard pile. There were zero bad pieces among them. It's like they took a great big scoop, let the teeny ones filter out, and kept the larger ones. My son had fun cleaning them and "grading" them, according to size and how many could clearly be defined as an emerald. He also had fun with the smaller ones. His cousins, upon seeing them, also took a great interest in them, and are now counting the days until I order another "treasure box" of raw gems. We've even wrapped some of the more unique ones and given them as gifts, and the people LOVED them.The sample piece they put in of one of their other wares has made me decide to get a different one every month from them, as I was so pleased by the generous amount and quality. After two other vendor disappointments with crystals and stones, this was gloriously refreshing. You cannot go wrong getting these.I will say this before you compare it with the picture. I did have to rinse the dust away, as it was literally a scoop from their mine carts, and any and all dust/debris will show up there. My first "big" purchase was an emerald ring for my high school graduation and I put a lot of research into things like cut, color, clarity, cost, etc. So I think I'm somewhat knowledgeable about emeralds. Anyway, I bought this intentionally as a mine run because I want to practice my cabbing and polishing but holy cow, I might end up practicing my cutting on some of these. The gray ones I'll cab, but a few of these are somewhat translucent with great color. (Still by no means gem quality). Even before I held these to the light, I could tell I had a good bag. Two of the three biggest pieces were complete duds (I'll hit them with a hammer later and see if I can salvage anything) but I knew that going into this. In fact, I'll probably go buy some pink sapphire now.
