I use a 51mm pressurised and non-pressurised basket with my DeLonghi machine, and to be honest, between the tamper and the leveler end, I very much prefer the leveler!Just fill your basket to the top as you normally would, then use the leveler to press it in gently and give it a spin - literally! For me it just flows easily and after a full spin or two, you have a beautifully flat surface, beautifully compacted, creating a very good and well extracted puck at the end (obviously your mileage may vary depending on the grind and your own machine, so give it a few practice runs first).The weight is perfect for me, coming in at around 506g, and it came in a nice box with a small mat for the gadget (as seen in the photos) ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ For reproducible espresso, buy this! *by A***R on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 30 July 2020* This distributor / tamper is of fairly high quality. It is of all metal construction and heavy weight to aid tamping. It allows you to control the amount of tamping by adjusting the metal collar. After tightening it stays in place allowing reproducible results.In order to use it, place the required amount of coffee in your portafilter. Dependent on your coffee grinder you may need to break clumps manually before using this (search for WDT—Weiss Distribution Technique). Then level off slightly and place the distributor on top. Dependent on your machine / grind settings you will need to adjust the “amount” of tamping with the screw collar. Then turn round slowly, potentially *lightly* pressing, until you are flat with the collar on your portafilter. To “polish” the top, now spin the distributor quickly.
