Description at top says whole, rest says powder, which is it?

They're the husks, not powder. This is clearly stated in the product description. Although you can turn it into powder in a spice grinder if you wish. Bear this in mind when reading recipes that use psyllium husk or powder. The density difference between the two makes a difference. I'd certainly recommend this company. I've been using this product for years. Especially great in 'chaffles', almond flour breads and coconut flour tortillas etc. Really good binder. Hope this helps.

What is the average shelf life for psyllium husks when it comes from the supplier?

I bought Psyllium Husk about 15 years ago for when my Dogs have the Occasional spell of 'runs'. JUST bought another Bag. Product supplier not important. In dogs, it absorbs all the abundant rectal fluid, ( 1 tablespoon scattered over light meal) 'job done' in 24 Hrs Normal Stool..Keep it DRY. In HUMANS, aids normal digestion. D.Bridgehouse. SRN

No longer looks like blond psyllium husk. Latest pack I received was dark brown, gritty and tasted unpleasant. Cancelled my repeat order and now looking for an alternative. Pity, because it used to be very good.
