Though it focuses on painting, much of what it says applies to all art media. Highly recommended for anyone who knows little about art history. Review: From the very beginning. - From the very beginning. Pictures, contexts, techniques and materials are described from the pre-historic times to the abstraction and modernism of the XX century. I recommend this book to know and understand “how art was made”.
