Is this actually black, or is it very very very very very very very very very dark blue?

😂 I bought it as black. I thought it was black, still do, but it could be very very very very very very very very very dark blue. Only if you want it to be though.

Why does the collar shape look to be not squared off but at an odd angle?

I think that what you describe as an odd angle is down to the sloppily posed photograph. I prefer proper stiff cotton collars under a cassock and wear that on Sundays but these shirts are good for less formal occasions. They are comfortable and wash better than some more expensive black shirts.

Why are these dry clean only? That would massively add to cost of owning the shirt.

This item can be Machine washed or dry cleaned. I own two of these shirts and both have been machine washed several times on a cool setting and are perfectly fine without loss of colour.

I want to buy the black long sleeve clergy shirt with collar but I have a 17 inch neck and 44 inch chest which size should I go for?

Hello I would recommend size 17 so it can fit your neck, max chest is 51 inch.
