You need to make sure the little metal coil is sitting on the bottom of the lamp, you may need to tilt the wax around to make sure the coil settles at the bottom. Then, the lamps need up to 4+ hours to warm up and start flowing. I got an desertcart Warehouse Deal lamp for under $20. The bulb was broken. The bulbs are $3.47 at home depot. I asked desertcart for a partial refund for the broken bulb. They gave me $5. I did store pickup on a bulb and the lamp was up and running in a few hours. This lamp is excellent! The colours are awesome and harder to find. It's great for the bedroom, because it doesn't have any blue/green light that disrupts sleep. This lamp is great, it has an attractive finish that reminds me of a martian landscape. I have several lamps, this particular one is the favorite of my housemate, and he is picky! I highly recommend this lamp, it is a lovely orange colored glow and creates a beautiful atmosphere.
