I have a pretty decent beard going and its pretty thick too and it works great, and its cool looking too. I use this comb all day every day comes with me to work, to the bar, everywhere.. Usually in my pocket all of the time, and it still has off of its teeth after much use and abuse. The only thing I wish it had was a place to attach a key ring and a chain so I wouldn't keep losing it when it comes out of the pocket!
