I started out on crutches, but quickly found my balance in my 60’s isn’t what it once was. Not being able to move around easily only added to my stress. The child/small adult was their suggestion. For me, it has been great. Easy to assemble, adjustable and lightweight. The basket on the front let’s me carry ‘my stuff’ around I find I feel very stable and it very easy to maneuver. I will say I’m 5’1, long torso and shorter legs. I do have the handlebars at their highest. If your body composition is around my height but longer legs, you may find the handlebars too low. You put a knee on the cushion and scoot with the good leg. I did use it to sit on for a short time while waiting for someone to pick me up, for example, however that is an unsteady option that I would advise against. **Q: how does this work in small spaces... ie getting in and out of small bathroom.... I live in carpeted apartment - good on carpet?** A: The turning radius is really good, but depending on the space in the bathroom, it may be difficult to manuever. The handle bars are narrow enough for tight spaces. If the sink sticks out a bit the handle bars may bump it. I used the scooter on hardwood floors, cement, and asphalt. It scoots very smoothly. As for carpet, I don't think it will be a problem unless its extremely thick carpet. **Q: Can the basket be detached for times I do not need to use it?** A: Yes, it’s detachable. But honestly the basket makes it 100% more user friendly! Otherwise you can’t hold or carry anything from room to room. This knee scooter was great as I recovered from a fractured fibula. Its good for your phone and other stuff. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Love my knee rover *by D***C on January 6, 2025* I am 4’11” tall adult women and I was afraid the adult size scooter would be too tall for my short legs and torso. The child one was perfect out of the box. It came about 99 % assembled. You just have to put the handle bars and basket on. Easy to adjust. The instructions tell you how to adjust breaks which I didn’t have to do and to make sure to tighten the wheels every few days if needed. So far I haven’t had to do anything to mine. I had foot surgery 3 weeks ago and I was getting very tired of crutches and they were hurting my arm pits and I felt very unstable using them and almost fell a few times which is scary. I have had no issues with my knee rover. It does take some getting used to and learning not to lean forward. Best to keep your center of gravity for better balance and maneuvering it.
