Tobacco; Its History, Varieties, Culture, Manufacture and Commerce Paperback – July 6, 2010

This was a "free" book and it was very good in detail and history. Similar to Tobacco: A cultural history, it covered a lot of the same material, but gave more detail. The how tobacco is grown section was very informative. Good for those serious about their baccy.

The book can get very tedious. That said, there is quiet a bit of historical information that's pretty interesting. I'm hoping that, at some point, the book will get into the biology of the plant.

This is an absolute classic. The book is steeped in arcane knowledge of the tobacco plant from its discovery to the author's time. It is worth the read.

We grew our own tobacco based off of this book.. it was VERY HELPFUL!

Great content ...but where are the illustrations that are listed . In the online version all the illustrations are visible . In this printed version they are absent . This killed my reading experience.very disappointed
