Comfort will depend on how strong and adapted you're feet are to bare minimum, not altras
Excellent fit as all 4 of my xeros have been ...10.5 across the board don't know what the deal with ppl saying they have inconsistent sizing etc ?! ....anyways ...classic mesh mid sole deal with the mesh removable insoles. I believe you could wear xero shoes without the insoles if you want and it not effect the wicking performance...they are nice sturdy but flexible, no cushioning which is what I wanted my scrambler evo and Ridgeway models are for cushion....these are great for house shoes, errands, working out, I'm sure I could hike these as well although the scrambler evo is superior in those regards

Great Initial Impression. Worth a look
I bought these to replace my New Balance minimalist shoes that have been out of production for a while. My first impression is that these shoes are fantastic. They are breathable, lightweight, flexible, and the toe box is wide enough to accommodate my wide feet. I typically wear 2E (extra wide) shoes and boots and these are everso slightly wider than what I'm used to, which is a good thing. The heel section fits like a glove to prevent a sloppy fit and the material/construction is comfortable with or without socks. Make sure to measure your foot and reference the size chart offered, my shoes fit me similar to other shoes/boots of the same size. Two minor drawbacks: 1) Shoe laces are the thick round type that don't always stay tied. 2) Insoles comes out every time I take the shoes off.

Great shoes
Let’s be honest, I really had low expectations for these shoes. I bought barefoot shoes after my daughter recommended them to help relieve pressure from my knees. I’ve typically worn Sketchers and tried HOKA, but neither have alleviated my pain. The Xero shoes took time to adjust to after having worn a lifetime of thick cushions and higher arches, but the trade-off has been worth it. Instead of pressure on my knees, the change in position has utilized the muscles around it instead. These shoes aren’t going to make cartilage magically grow, but they are helping a lot with much of the pain. The toe box is spacious and the fit is perfect. My daughter has made me a believer in these style of shoes and I don’t regret my purchase whatsoever.

Great, but soles wear faster than expected
Favorite shoe so far (just bought another pair), super comfortable, but do think the soles wear too fast. Got maybe 1000-1500 miles before they were blister factories, and their site does state like a 5k mile warranty so felt a little low on lifespan compared to brand marketing Otherwise pretty good, no forced arches or weird drop, almost like going barefoot. Gate is good when walking Fits well, maybe a touch cramped in toes. And pretty decent look for a barefoot shoe

Bought after KoT recommended. Go down a size
Bought these after they were recommended by Knees Over Toes Guy. Typical shoes (unnaturally) bunch your toes together and give you a raised heel. I think narrow toe boxes are meant to look better as they make your foot appear slender and they also *seem* to emulate and create an ideal pushing motion of your foot. Raised heels are likely to be used to exaggerate your foots position to push off the ball of your foot. These are just my thoughts. The PROBLEM with narrow toe boxes is that they deform your feet and cause bunions. Raised heels on shoes shorten the length of your Achilles’ tendon, since it does not have to be elongated as much when the heel is raised. These aren’t opinions. Raised heels also makes you more vulnerable to rolling you ankle AND the rolls will be worse, as your heel is further from the ground. This is proven, see KoT guy and SquatU videos on this. Now that I explained how typical shoes work, Here is how these shoes function: These shoes do Not Have an elevated heel. They do have a toe box that is shaped to fit your foot in a more natural shape. This enables you to use your foot like a tripod and get maximum stability from your foot. This is great for weight lifters. The flat bottom profile returns your Achilles’ tendon length to its natural state and promotes better ankle mobility, which is pivotal to a deep squat. (If your ankle mobility is less than ideal, try elevating your heel on some plates.) I have always ordered shoes too big because I did not like the feeling of my toes touching the sides of my shoes. I used to wear 11-12 shoes so my I could get a wider shoe at expense of having extra space at the end. I ordered 11’s of this shoe and they had far too much space at the end. I returned for 10.5’s and they fit much better. I don’t need extra space at the end of the shoe. Also, the extra space causes your foot to slide in your shoe, creating unnecessary calluses. Cons: These shoes certainly aren’t the most stylish. Could be worse but they aren’t anything to brag about. The wide toe box looks unnatural since most ppl wear narrow shoes. The shoes are quite thin. This is great for foot awareness as much of that is lost with shoes on, but I cannot wear these walking on rocks or roots, as you’ll feel every one. Concrete is not terrible but your feet weren’t really made to walk on such a hard material so more cushion would be helpful. Running in these shoes puts a great deal of force on your calves. I wear these at the gym and walking around the store and flat areas. My feet are noticeably stronger and I can actually feel the ground under my feet with them on. I’m much more aware of how my feet are moving and reacting. My balance has improved drastically. KoT guy said he used these for basketball. I thought he was crazy until I tried it. I’ve never worn low top shoes for basketball due to my previously weak ankles. Now these are my basketball shoe. They have great tread. (KoT guy is currently developing wide toe, zero drop basketball shoes with a YouTube sneaker head that will have a thicker sole. I will buy them when they are released). I recommend these for everyone, but I do think it’s important you understand the “why” of the shoes, their use cases, and how they react on some terrain.

My husband’s favorite shoes — hands down!
I bought these Xero Crosstraining shoes for my husband when I first started getting into barefoot running and minimalist shoes. He was curious about them and wanted to try a pair for himself. He’s been wearing them for over a year now, mainly for hiking and casual wear, and he still says every single time he puts them on that they’re “the most comfortable shoes he’s ever worn.” He has always preferred shoes with a wide toe box (even before trying minimalist styles), so his feet didn’t require much adjustment. I’ve noticed that he actually stands up straighter in these — in his other shoes with even a small heel, he tended to lean forward a bit. For hiking, he used to wear heavy boots with thick soles and a higher heel, and he never tied them properly — the laces were always loose, which never made sense to me. But with these Xero shoes, he ties them snugly and loves the way he can feel the ground beneath his feet. The thinner sole provides him with better balance and a more secure connection to the trail. What’s even more impressive is how well they’ve held up. After a full year of use, they still look great. The soles aren’t worn down at all, and there are no signs of excessive wear or tear anywhere on the shoe. He genuinely enjoys wearing these shoes, and I can tell he’s not going back to traditional hiking boots anytime soon.

Very cool and comfortable
Very comfortable, great quality. I really enjoy the comfort and now prefer them to my other sneakers. Great for hitting the gym and walking.

My son’s favorite shoe. He wears them out quickly, but he plays rough.
The only shoe my son will wear. I’ve been re-buying them for him since 2023. I give them 4 stars since the shoe laces always fray and they usually get holes. my son plays rough though and he usually needs the size up by the time they get too warn out.

Fantastic shoes for someone who want to be introduce to the zero drop shoes
Love these shoes. Bought Vivobarefoot at twice the price and Xera are much better quality and way more comfortable.
