What can I say. Cheap reliable nothing fancy about it except Google Japanese steel. Dexter is the best bang for you buck even better than all the others. It's built for utility and to hold its edge. I've clean multiple limits of redfish and flounder without having to sharpen just give it a few swipes on a strop or honing rod. Sharpens easy with a smooth edge. Best filet kn8fe you can buy better that "Bubba"

This knife is sharp and easy to use. I also like the stainless steel which makes it easy to keep clean.

Decent knife for use in processing chickens. Does not hold an edge very long - required constant resharpening. Easy to grip and hold on to even with blood on the handle - which cleaned off easily. Not sure I’d reorder again but the jury is still out.

I saw this on a YouTube video with Reed the fishmonger. His store had it for $38.00 and honestly, too insane a price just to filet fish.I said let me check it out on Amazon, same 7" filet knife for $15.00 here.But he mentioned a stone he bought on Amazon for $10.00 with a 1000 grit and I did buy that too...Great pair together....He uses this knife on all his fish cutting and brags about this knife. After reading all the amazing comments about the blade, the grip, the make I had to get it.Glad I did... Now I'm ready to load all my ice chest up with fish...glad Amazon also had this Dexter knife.UPDATE 1/2025The knife was hardly used and I had to sharpen it...Very sharp because it was new, but all I filet was chicken breast, and I had to sharpen it after 4 filets.

I have had a handful of other filet knives. The Rapala filet knife and sheath I think everyone who fishes owned at one point, a Gerber and a few others.Hands down this knife beats them all. Makes short work of fileting trout and salmon. I'd say I was a C+ at fileting fish but I am sure as heck a lot better now that I am using this knife.Sharp, durable handle, and the price is right.

Best fish knife for the price. Bought both the boning and deleting knife. Can’t beat the value. Extremely sharp. Great handle.
