Is it possible to use 1mm wire with this tool?

No only 0.014-0.031 this tool is very small but works awesome with the size wire recommended

Does anyone know the size of the finished loop in mm?

You can make the loop any size you want, however I would expect normally the sizes would be in the range of 1.5mm to 4mm
