Absolutely Works
Super impressed with this product. I experienced a very noticeable improvement in my painful CMC joint condition in a matter of just a few days and it keeps getting better with each passing day. After much research I decided to spend the extra money for this more highly rated brace and I'm glad I did. Based on other reviews, I also purchased a hand compression gauntlet to protect my skin. Not too tight, the idea is not to double compress the joint, only have a buffer between the brace and the skin. Great move. I have no problems with skin irritation. I fit the brace properly without pulling the straps too tight. Very comfortable. I don't even think about it when it's on. Highly recommend this product.

Worth the money!
I have left CMC arthritis and have recently started using a brace. I have a joint replacement scheduled (itโs only been in the US about a year). Iโm 50 and have practiced medicine for over 20 years. I also am a woodworker and do a lot of chores with my hands. I purchased the Willcom first due to cost. It is an excellent brace. I was able to live my life and had almost no pain with activity, and very little at night relaxing after a busy day. After about 3 weeks it started to fall apart. I then bought the PUSH. They really do look about the same. The PUSH is night and day better. The construction is slightly different. The palm piece on the cheaper one is 2 pieces while the PUSH is one. More stability in the one piece and the cheaper one was coming apart at that seam. The other is the big one. The metal piece around the thumb base. The cheaper one is very malleable, deforms easily and has to be adjusted multiple times a day. The PUSH keeps its shape, even with posting up on that hand getting off the floor. I will probably have surgery in June. The cheaper one didnโt last a month, and I needed 3-4 out of it. Buy once, cry once. I didnโt follow my own advice.

Works great!
The brace works great. Itโs comfortable. Stops the pain when wearing it and allows me to use my hand/ thumb and itโs very non intrusive. My only problem is that I keep misplacing the brace. I would like to suggest that the manufacturer make it in some bright colors for those who donโt mind the bright color if it will help them locate it. I have even considered if I could put a tracker on it but decided it would be in the way. Tried some others but they did not work as well or were uncomfortable.

Effective butโฆ
These braces (I use left & right) are the best Iโve found to keep my CMC bone spurs from digging into the surrounding tissue while handling tools, etc. and reducing the inevitable pain. They stand up to water and grease and clean up pretty well when needed. They are also far less noticeable than the black Futuro braces that I also use when relaxing while reading or watching TV. They arenโt cheap but your insurance should cover them if you have the medical record to justify it. The only real negative is where the hard plastic rides between the thumb and the index finger. Over time, the flared thumb hole plastic digs into the tissue underneath, where the skin is thin and there is no fat to cushion it. It got really sore for me over time. Iโve had to cut adhesive cushions to wrap around the thumbhole completely, otherwise they work loose. Also, if you wear them a lot, a callus can develop where the plastic transitions to the straps from rubbing against the heel of the palm. Still, I donโt know of a better CMC brace if you still want to handle tools. Also, once youโve got the straps tight, make a fist and adjust them back off a bit for your best fit. These braces allow work gloves to slide over them, giving a bit more support at the wrist and some padding overall. If you've got this condition, every little edge can take some stress off. These definitely help me avoid as much inflammation as I can while still living my life. Minus 1 star due to lack of padding where critical for daily use.

Effectiveness
Excellent. Used cheap braces before. Expensive, but worth it if you are in a lot of pain, and donโt want to take pain medication daily.

Brace that works
This is the only brace I have found that actually helps. It feels comfortable and makes my thumb area feel better.

Shoddy product
My physical therapist recommended this product, but I have found a huge flaw with it that may soon make it ineffective. The unit secures on your thumb via the use of two velcro bands glued and stitched to plastic piece your thumb goes into. These two strips pass through two very narrow openings in the plastic piece. If you allow the two bands to slip out of the two very narrow openings in the plastic piece a few times, the ends of the velcro bands become frayed and will no longer pass through the two very narrow openings in the plastic piece. This will make my unit useless. The manufacturer could have simply made the two very narrow openings in the plastic piece wider so that the velcro bands would pass through the openings with greater ease. Ok, you might say, "Well don't let the bands slip out of the openings!" If you have one of these units you will realize it's very easy for the bands to slip out of the openings. Of course, the company was cheap in making the bands much too short. Were they longer, then the likelihood of them slipping out of the openings would be far reduced. Simple solutions not obvious to the creators of this unit. When will they learn?

Thumb placement support
I've been wearing a thumb brace for a while and have purchased several over the years. In the past I've been let down from time to time with other braces so I was very reluctant to purchase this one due to the price. I was surprised to find that this brace has a frim plastic band that goes across the palm. If you've never worn a brace before you might not understand the importance of this because it helps keep your thumb back even with the rest of your hand. None of the other braces did this, so I could put my hand flat (like on a table). My thumb was sore for the first day but it was fine by day two. I assume that this was due to the brace holding my thumb back where it actually belongs. I know that the price tag is a bit high so if you only occasionally are in need of a little extra support I think the $40 braces will work for you just fine but if you're like me and need to wear one pretty much all of the time I would recommend getting this brace for its additional support ๐
