fun, easy to read
Stories are short, fun, easy to read, age appropriate vocabulary. Good media to teach meaning of "literally" as that's the way Amelia understands any communication. Get's my ttoring student reading on her own!!

Always Amazing!
There is just something about Amelia Bedelia that I absolutely love. To me, this is surprising due to the fact that she seems so clueless; however, I use her to show my children what we should do VS what we shouldn't do.This story specifically, helped me to show my son that just because someone thinks differently than we do, that doesn't mean that we should just push them aside. Everyone deserves to matter, and if it is at all possible, everyone should always be included.

Amelia Bedelia Takes Her Show on the Road
When Amelia Bedelia serves Mrs. Rogers cereal with her coffee (in the same cup, of course), Mrs. Rogers has finally had enough and fires her. Now Amelia Bedelia must find a new job. She tries a beauty shop, a dress shop, an office, and a doctor's office, but her literal ways always seem to cause problems. Can she find a job?I've always enjoyed this book in the series because it breaks with tradition slightly. The Rogers aren't in much of it. Instead, Amelia Bedelia gets to annoy a whole new range of people. That allows for some rather funny situations that probably would never happen at home. And most of the plays on words in this book will still entertain kids today. It's always most fun when you can see the confusion coming and laugh as Amelia Bedelia does the obviously wrong thing.Of course, the book does have a happy ending and one last laugh before it ends. This is definitely a classic entry in the series, and kids will still enjoy it today.

Come Back, Amelia Bedelia
Yes, come back Amelia Bedelia! I love Amelia Bedelia, and I never want her to leave!Amelia Bedelia is the housekeeper for Mr. and Mrs. Rogers. (I would say she's probably about 18?) She takes everything literally; doesn't understand figures of speech. Because of this, she gets into some very interesting situations. But she does have an incredible talent: cooking, because she follows directions verbatim. In this particular book, Amelia is fired because she takes things literally, and ends up doing the wrong things. But will she get her job back? There is one thing that should save her . . . (I can't tell you what it is, you have to read the books.)I love Amelia Bedelia books. If you haven't been lucky enough to discover her, I recommend these books.Amelia Bedelia is one of my favorite characters. Even though these are children's books, I find a bit of coziness in these books. I have loved Amelia Bedelia every since I discovered her (when my kids were little.)
