More expensive kits come with extra stuff to brew your own, but we end up going out and buying something we like better anyway. OK's kombucha kit is great because it comes with the very basics of what you need for brewing your own kombucha at a reasonable price!

The culture I ordered must have gotten too hot or too cold while in transit. After two weeks the tea is still sweet, even while being kept at a constant 80 degrees Fahrenheit. I’ve used this brand before and had great results, but not this time.

Unfortunately, the scoby was dead on arrival. I've made kombucha before with great success. I purchased this kit to get started again after taking a break for a few months. I made the tea, added the sugar, put it into a clean crock after it cooled to room temperature and then added the scoby. Within three days, mildew formed on the top of the tea and I had to throw out the whole batch. I found instead of a firm, solid healthy scoby, a wad of gelatinous goo. Disappointing!

I'm on my fourth batch. The instructions are so easy to follow and my scoby has grown big enough that I have shared some babies with friends. If you want to get started with making kombacha, this is the kit for you.

I have bought this kombucha kit several times from Oregon Kombucha. They include everything you need to make your Kombucha tea. Their brewing guide is simple and easy to follow. Would buy from them again.

This is the best starter kit. It comes with easy instructions that are easier to follow than the kombucha book we bought.
