The best I’ve found, almost impossible to find good wood to try and make your own, I found this brand and have been using it this product many times many paintings, what nice quality and a huge time saver Ampersand is the only way to go most definitely won’t be disappointed, one thing to look for packaging in shipment is unprotected had chipped corner, I repaired it reason being didn’t have time to send back and wait for another I needed it now, that’s my only beef with this product is the way its packaged for shipping

I love these smooth (1/8”) panels for painting with liquid acrylics—pairs great with ampersand’s floating frame too.

These panels are great to paint on, I really like the texture and it's nice and sturdy. I took one star off because some of the corners came with small chips on them. Not that big of a deal if you're planning to frame your art, since they'll get covered up, but if you're not framing then it could be an issue.

Gessobord has a much better finish than other brands. you can paint on this and still blend your paint. The other brands I've used are much too absorbent and your paint sinks in immediately. Dries it out, and makes it difficult to blend. This isn't like that. Like the little bear's porridge, this is just right. I've been painting for 50 years, 46 professionally - this is the only brand I will spend my money on.

The products themselves are outstanding, however of the five gesso boards I ordered 3 showed signs of corner damage. I will use them, but somewhat disappointed.

This is a great product. But Amazon just can't deliver it intact. This is the second time they shipped this fragile product to me in a paper envelope. It's damage on arrival again. Amazon, what's become of your shipping prowess?

Das Board hat einen heftigen Transportschaden. Alle Ecken wurden gestaucht. Die Ecke links oben ist besonders beschädigt. Somit hat das Board seine "Museumsqualität" verloren. Für eine wertige Malarbeit ist es nicht mehr zu gebrauchen. Angesichts des hohen Preises und der hohen Transportkosten aus den USA hätte ich eine schützendere Verpackung erwartet.

They are smaller than I thought. Although, I’m sure they’re of great quality, but there are almost zero local retailers here in Germany, who offer Ampersand Gesso boards. The cost rises so high with all the shipping costs from Amazon or any other online shop. I wish Ampersand would find a way to offer its products directly to the customers in Germany without shipping costs. It’s expensive enough already. But it’s truly a nice product.

Good quality boards as any ampersand product. Have a slight smooth bumpy texture different from both sanded and unsanded gesso that one typically gets doing it manually. One needs to try it to see if they like it for particular painting medium and style.
