Ortho WeedClear Lawn Weed Killer Concentrate - North

Three years ago I had a 3/4 acre lawn that had hundreds of dandelions and plantain weeds growing in it. Now I only have to worry about the new arrivals because this stuff killed all of the old ones dead. This is a concentrate, so all that you have to do is measure out 2.5 ounces in a measuring cup, pour it into an empty one gallon spray bottle that you can get at your local big box hardware store, fill the bottle with water, shake it up for about ten seconds and you should be readyto go. Three squirts on a normal sized weed and four squirts for a really big weed should do the trick. Within 24 hours the weeds should be shriveled up to the point of insignificance and within a week they should be dead. Three or four overall treatments per year should take care of all of them. You can apply on a sunny day or a shady day, as long as it won’t be raining anytime soon you should be fine. No brown spots whatsoever. It probably works on crabgrass too but I prefer to dig that out with a dandelion digger.

Another quality lawn product from ortho and have used Ortho for years and have stayed with the brand something approaching 40 years .I do consider it my go to because it has always been effective for me and I believe at competitive price especially since the product actually works whereas when I have tried competitors have always been disappointed. Some patience is required it does not work overnight have to give it some time to work in.

Was absolutely amazed at how well it works. I actually think it worked better than the the expensive brands that I have only been able to buy at the independent garden center. Took care of all the crabgrass and foxtail that happened to sprout up in my backyard even though I put down the expensive garden only center brand of pre emergent . So disappointed in that and will be changing this fall but I am happy that at least this Ortho did its job so now my grass is growing in nice and green

My go to chemical to get rid of everything in the grass thats not grass. I use this in Idaho, I mix a little heavier than the instructions call for, I put it in my 5 gallon electric tank sprayer and I go to town. I usually can get through my yard twice with a bottle. I like that its the same thing Ive used but I can have it delivered with Prime.

Does not work on most of the weeds in my yard. In prior years I have used Weed-B-Gon with great success in my yard. I have done 2 separate applications with most weeds doing about as well before application. Most of the weeds have only slightly browned on the leaf edges. I will not be using this in the future.

I've used Ortho lawn weed kill Concentrate a few times now, and overall, it's a decent option for general weed control. It definitely works, but it’s slow-acting—you need to be patient and give it time to do its job. I started seeing results in about a week, with some weeds taking even longer to wilt. It’s easy to mix and apply, and I appreciate that it doesn’t seem to harm my lawn when used as directed. That said, it's not a one-and-done solution—some tougher weeds needed a second application. If you're looking for a fast, dramatic result, this might not be the product for you. But if you’re okay with gradual progress, it gets the job done over time. I’d say it’s a solid middle-of-the-road product: not amazing, but reliable if you’re consistent and follow the directions.
