Pungent, pleasant taste. I use it in homemade herbal/spice tea. Add to boxed teas, or grind for cookie/dessert recipes. Good quality

Buying These in Bulk Keeps Me From Breaking the Bank on My Herb and Spice Purchases
I smoke, cure and dry several hundred pounds of meat, sausage and salami per year (in addition to the cooking and baking I do) and I got to the point where I was purchasing so much herb and spice that I had to start purchasing in bulk. I would go through several of those smaller glass jars each year and at sometimes $5 - $7 per jar, well my herb and spice fetish was starting to break the bank. I started buying in bulk and was concerned that I would not be able to use up such large volumes of herbs quickly enough. Well I vacuum sealed these Juniper berries in my vacuum chamber and have been using them for a couple of years. I go through about a jar per year and I have not noticed and difference in the quality from the first batches I used to today. I have found the quality of these Juniper Berries to be very nice and in bulk, they are very easy on the budget. These Juniper Berries have very nice aromatics and taste great. Juniper berries are an absolute must for Bresaola and you can see in a couple of these photos how many Juniper Berries I use in a batch of Bresaola or Capocollo and this is just one of my spice racks (I have four of them). Anyway, I am extremely please with this purchase and I am just about ready to buy again since I am down to my last jar (you can see them on the third shelf from the bottom on the far left hand side). Yes, a pound of juniper berries is a LOT of Juniper Berries but they store very well long term if they are stored correctly and they are exponentially cheaper in bulk than spending $7 for one of those little glass jars with about 40 berries in them.

1 lb of juniper berries is A LOT
Excellent quality product and inexpensive enough I didnโt stop to look at the quantity. Unless you make a lot of aperitifs, gin or gravlax, 1 lb is probably a lifetime supply of juniper berries. Just fair warning...

Great product at a reasonable price
These juniper berries are quite potent and wonderful. The package is well-vacuumed and the smell when you first cut it open is downright heavenly (assuming you like juniper). I've used them to flavor wine, make candy, make tea, and add wonderful aroma to meat...basically, all of the things you'd use juniper for short of making gin or potpourri. If you need good juniper, and want more than a small handful, this is basically the perfect way to get it.
