HIDB TV Antenna for Smart TV Indoor, Digital TV Antenna for Local Channels | OTA Digital HD Signal Antenna with Magnetic Base and 10ft Cable for Easy Setup

Don’t usually leave reviews but this antenna is outstanding. We live in Old City Philadelphia (no line-of-sight for us!) and have used Leaf antennas (some amplified, some not) for years, with mixed results - receiving no more than about a dozen channels. Thought Leaf antennas were the gold standard. ABC (Ch6) and NBC (Ch10) usually come in, sometimes MeTV (Ch2), CBS (Ch3) iffy. Never ever got WHYY (Ch11). Reception very sensitive to Leaf antenna positioning and weather. Plugged in the HIDB antenna (gosh, it’s small) in the same location as the old Leaf antenna (2nd Flr window sill) , scanned for channels, and, wow, got 98 channels. Yes. Ninety Eight! All the networks plus a bunch of channels we never heard of. Channels from Allentown (Ch69), Channels from Reading. Channels from NJ. And even WHYY plus three other PBS channels. Didn’t need to fiddle around with moving the antenna this way and that to get signal. Antenna just sitting on the window sill. Digital quality for most channels - no pixelating for the network channels. Free TV heaven - for under twenty bucks (compare that to an amplified MOHU Leaf antenna, with lousy reception in our experience, for around $60!).

I was pleasantly surprised by how well this TV antenna works! Setup was quick and easy just plug it into the TV, scan for channels, and you’re ready to watch. I was able to access several free local channels without paying for cable. Channel availability depends on your location.

Decent. Works as well as larger digital tv antennas and is less of an eyesore. It doesn’t magically make a weak signal stronger or prevent signal drops and briefly frozen screens with data drops. But it will get you basic tv without an expensive monthly internet service, and if you don’t watch much tv and can get by with your cellphone for your online needs, it’s an okay way to save money on a service that isn’t my as valuable as it used to be.

This is a great digital antenna at a great price. Reception and Picture quality is as high what you get from cable companies. Easy to use and setup on a smart TV. Pretty much plug n play. We use it with our covered outdoor television and it is amazing. There is a little tiling only when there is a lot of wind blowing the surrounding trees.

If I would have known how many channels were still available for free, much less how easy it would be to install an antenna, I would’ve done this so so long ago. Ages ago. I barely paid attention to the install instructions, although they were so very easy. No long booklet of 15 different languages, simple steps that were very user-friendly and how to get set up quickly.The antenna itself is smaller than I expected, which I was happy about. I didn’t pay attention to the measurements listed. I thought it needed to be tall for a signal, I thought it was going be some odd looking thing I was going to have in a weird space out in the open. That could potentially look phallic. 😂 When in actuality, it is so small that it blends in with decor that I have around my television and you can’t even see it. I had no issues with having to find a spot for it to be a clear picture. The first place I put it. It worked perfectly with crystal clear reception. I don’t know if this is because I have windows in my living room, but I was just shocked and so happy about how easy it was to connect. The instructions say to have it as high as possible, so right now it is on a bookshelf, but, again, because it’s so discreet in size you can’t even see it mixed in with my bookshelf decor.These streaming companies that charge $90 a month JUST so you can see local news, I don’t understand how it’s legal according to FCC. Which, by the way, I checked, the FCC doesn’t regulate pricing of any kind for streaming services, nor what they offer. That’s another topic, but how is that legal? I’m currently on limited income and canceled all streaming services that aren’t somehow discounted by other membership, etc.. I also had some of my streaming services on auto draft and didn’t realize how expensive they had become. Ignorance is bliss, actually no it’s not.Even when I get into a better financial situation, I will not pay for those streaming services again. I’m able to watch local news, which means I can watch for the tornado warnings that I will have this afternoon. As opposed to some of the other “free live TV” streaming that shows “local news” for, yes, I counted, 22 other cities that mean nothing to my local safety or community.One time investment of $19, vs minimum of $89 a month. No counting the free coverage of some football games when the cheapest o found for just one sports channel was $20 a month.The only semi trick to setting it up was really based on my TV, and it had nothing to do with this product. Even then it just took 2 to 5 minutes of patience and reading through the e-manual on my Samsung. Hint: you have to find the feature that has your television search for all updated channels, no matter the connectivity. I also thought that I would have to change the source or input on my remote when I wanted to watch local TV from the antenna coverage, no it loaded into my TVs free channel lineup. So no flipping over even from source/input.Wish I would’ve done this years ago, and certainly will keep it no matter when better financial days 🙏🏻 come my way.

I bought this as a backup since we mostly stream but still like to access local channels.On the TV in my bedroom, it barely picked up anything. The antenna I was replacing (I was trying to get even better reception) found 52 channels. This one found 0 channels. I was ready to return it, but I tried it on a different TV and it worked much better there!Even so, placement makes a huge difference. I have to move it around to get consistent reception and some channels come in stronger than others. Once positioned correctly, it works— but it’s not something you can just plug in and forget about.It’s helpful if you have something magnetic to stick it on. Otherwise, forget about it. If you DO have something magnetic (window frame, picture, frame, etc.), it does stick great and is what gives you more range! It feels well made and heavy, not flimsy like some of them out there, and I really wanted this little guy to work. 🫤For occasional use, it’s fine —if you depend on an antenna daily, you may want something stronger. If you don’t want a wire hanging out and going across the room, this is not the antenna for you.

I absolutely love this tiny antenna! Don’t let the small size fool you — this little device works amazingly well. I’ve tried several larger antennas that attached to my window, but none of them performed as well as this one.It looks so cute sitting on top of my TV stand, and the installation was simple. I’m very impressed with the reception and how well it picks up local channels.I definitely recommend this antenna to anyone looking for a small, effective, and easy-to-use option!

Works ok, but very sensitive to placement. It can't be near any large electronics (like a TV, ironically) and is harder to get into position like the older style flat antenna with adhesive pads. Because I get best signal about 7 feet off the ground, it's hard to get this antennae to this place and I'm only getting about half the channels I did on my old antenna before it stopped working. I'm going to install a shelf which should help, but this is an extra step that was never needed with the other style.

My previous antenna works much better than this device.I would like to increase the number of channels but the opposite happens with this product.Not recommended.

Esta antena me parecía muy poca utilidad por su tamaño tan pequeño al mirarla fuera de la caja de embalaje, cuestión de tiempo para instalarla que fue muy rápido y me pareció bastante buena idea aberla adquirido la recomiendo por su alcance y sobre todo el excelente precio gracias

After cutting cable costs, I owned a Mohu antenna for 5 years. I have tried other antenna to replace it. This is by far the best reception & easiest to mount on its magnetic base . I face north away from the CN Tower and reception is clear picking up 8 channels. The most that I would ever watch CTV, TVO , Global ,City and Radio Canada all as clear even the best cable. I also pick up 3 ethic channels but do not watch them. If I still had cable I would have had to pay for them irrespective. The simple coaxial cable is so easy no need for a UHB port. I highly recommended this inexpensive product.
