SMARTRO SC42 Professional Digital Hygrometer Indoor Room Thermometer

I picked up the SMARTRO SC42 Professional Digital Hygrometer about two months ago to monitor my master bedroom because of bathroom with shower. This thing is impressive right out of the box. The 3.5" LCD screen is large and clear, with big digits that are easy to read even from across the room. The touch-activated backlight is a nice touch — it lights up for about 10 seconds when you tap the top, perfect for checking at night without turning on a lamp. Accuracy seems spot-on. It uses industrial-grade sensors (Swiss-made, according to the specs) and updates every 10 seconds. I compared it side-by-side with a couple of other thermometers/hygrometers I own, and it consistently matched or beat them. Temperature is within ±0.5°F and humidity within ±2% RH, which is excellent for this price range. I love that it shows 24-hour and all-time high/low records too — super helpful for tracking how my AC or humidifier is doing. It also has a comfort indicator that tells you if the room is too dry, too humid, or just right. Setup was basically plug-and-play (2x AAA batteries, not included). It comes with a stand, magnetic back, and hanging hole, so you can place it anywhere. No real complaints so far — battery life is solid, and it feels well-built. If you want a reliable indoor consumer thermometer/hygrometer this one is a winner. Highly recommend.

Just got it today based on all of the reviews and I'm extremely Happy with my purchase! Super Easy to set up, literally I put the batteries in and it did whatever it had to do on its own! I Love that it comes with magnets attached and a little stand. I purchase the two-pack and stuck one to the fridge via the magnet and one in another area on its stand. Love the light button to make it bright when you need to see it, Love the Large Numbers, Temperature monitoring was spot on.... I can tell this will function perfectly and the batteries will last quite a while because the light goes to a dimmer mode until you need to make it brighter. We have Golden Retrievers with double coat fur and I'm always cold and can't tell if their rooms are too hot & humid... so these are perfect for each area they are in so I can keep them comfortable! Just got them today and already Love them! Great Price too! I would Highly Recommend and would purchase again! It was delivered FAST too.

I can't give it a rating for accuracy yet, because it's only been running for a half-hour, but I'll monitor it and will give it 4 stars for now. Like everyone else I'm used to a certain standard for stuff "Made in China," but I was very pleasantly surprised by this unit. It comes with a little clearly written folding instruction book outlining all the features and options (which most importantly was written by someone who has a full command of English!) It also has multiple references on the box and the documentation for customer support, and a reference to a 3-Year Replacement Warranty if you register the product (with a scancode link), so it's clear they care about customer satisfaction. The unit has a nice large display of RH and Temp, with easy to adjust buttons on the back (to switch between Centigrade and Fahrenheit, etc.) The back has multiple mounting options, a hanger indent / hook, and two very strong magnets; it won't be going anywhere if you mount it on metal. The battery slider door is tough plastic and strong. The outer surrounding case is grooved so it's easy to hang onto. Yes, the backlight only displays when you touch the activation button on top or a button in back, but if it was on all the time you'd be changing batteries a lot more. I have mine at eye level on top of a cabinet out of the direct sun (as instructed), and it's easy to touch the top to light up the display brightly. I added two AAA batteries and was up and running in seconds. Assuming that it keeps accurate temp and indicates RH that's in the ballpark to an older more expensive weather station I have, then I'm definitely going to get at least 1 more for a closet where I keep some expensive chess pieces that have to stay between 40-60% RH. You can calibrate it yourself if you want, but it was calibrated at the factory so should be good to go. For less than $20 this is a great deal (and since when faced with multiple similar items I usually pick the dud, I'm really happy with my purchase this time. One of my better Amazon buys lately...!) Again I haven't had this long enough to notice any issues, but offhand I'd say go for it and I don't think you'll be sorry from what I've seen so far.

Easy to read, seems accurate and updates very quickly. Highly recomended… reasonable price, I bought two.

This is the second unit that I ordered I keep one in my basement to make sure that the humidity is below 50 and it keep track of the temperature that way my electronics stay in good shape Love the easy to see display and I actually ordered another one for upstairs

Got this in and at first I liked the product. It has nice features but it is more expensive the simple ones offered here. I thought this would be good as I wanted a history of the temps and humidity levels and purchased this one. I rarely leave negative reviews but as you can see in the picture the current temp display is not completely showing the number after very little use and NO drops. purchase with caution. Update: After writing my review the company reached out to me to offer a replacement unit to be sent to me without anything else needed on my part. I did not contact them so they are following their product reviews with someone who is contacting those who have issues/challenges it seems. Bonus customer service points for the company for doing this. I got the replacement unit about a week later and I have been using for the last week or so with no issues. Like others shared, the screen is large and easy to use. The magnets on the rear are a nice way to mount this unit which is what I'm doing. I have the two units next to each other to track any differences in the history and so far they have both been the same with no changes or differences between the two units. Even though the main screen for the temp on my original unit is difficult to read, I can still see the historical measurements which is what I'm doing. If anything changes, I'll post an update to my review. The company deserves credit for the customer service it provides not only responding to issues/challenges but to actively seek out and remedy issues as well. I was going to keep the unit and just deal with only having the historical data but when they reached out to me I took their offer of the replacement unit. That says alot about this company and how they view their feedback and support their product as well. My lone negative review could have gone un-noticed but they found it and took it upon themselves to remedy the issue.

I use it for keeping my acoustic guitars at the right humidity levels (40~50%) which need an ajustable calibration offset controls (use humidity pack for control reference). Works fine and nice to have a readout backlighting when needed… (Cheaper hygrometers have no controls and can often be inaccurate up to 10%…)

I brought one checked it via a salt test bang on 75% brought another same as bang on 75%. Very pleased with the accuracy, very easy to use & has a decent magnet to hang up. to verify if your meter is correct put it in a plastic container with a cap filled with salt add a very small amount of water to the salt so you can still pick it up & it doesn’t run, seal it properly leave it a full 24hrs and it should read 75% if not it’s out & needs calibration )

Working great so far and I’ve had for a few months now. Accurate measure and backlight is very bright but not blinding. Great display and easy to read.

Ottimo igrotermometro. Alla fine ne ho acquistati tre…. Dopo averne resi due di altro produttore che non ho trovato affidabili e che non permettevano la calibrazione se non in un piccolo range ristretto, inutile nel mio caso. Mentre questo permette una calibrazione senza vincoli !!! Ottimo prodotto.
