KastKing Mountain Mist Cold Winter Weather Fishing Gloves for Men and Women

I wanted a glove that I could use my fingers when needed. Hunting, fishing, whatever the purpose. The KastKing gloves give me quick access to finger tips when needed. Due to their versatility they aren't the warmest gloves when sitting, but while moving they were better than constantly taking a bulky glove off, or nothing at all. The camo patters look great and fit was spot on when using the size chart. Finger tips of the glove work on my phone. The rubberized coating on the palm give grip when needed. When you peel the finger tips back so you can use your fingers, there is Velcro on the back to hold them out of the way. Just a warning, don't wipe your nose with the back of your hand while the gloves are on are you will soon feel that Velcro. Overall, a great glove. My nephew saw mine and liked them, so I'm buying him a pair for Christmas.

I received my KastKing Mountain Mist gloves yesterday and took some time to check them out once I got them. They're extremely comfortable to wear and definitely felt plenty warm while using them inside my house. The cuff of the glove secures nicely and creates a solid seal on your wrist. The fingertips fold back on the thumb, index and middle fingers, which also secure nicely to the glove and seal nicely when closed back up. I took the opportunity to take these gloves out today to give them a thorough test due to the cooler fall weather. We are currently in the low 50's here in the Midwest and despite the weather apps only showing a mild wind (3 - 4 mph), there were some stronger gusts, and the wind definitely did kick up while I was on the water. The gloves held up phenomenally and kept my hands nice and warm while I was out on the water. The ability to flip the thumbs back made using my baitcasting reel a breeze. The light weight of the gloves didn't feel at any time like they were hindering my ability to fish at all. Once I got back to my car, pulling the gloves off was just a matter of opening the wrist straps and pulling them off, making them easy to remove and put on. I look forward to having these gloves in my tackle kit for early spring and late fall fishing. Highly recommended!

So I picked these up a few weeks ago and have finally gotten to test them on a trip. But before I went out, I was testing the fit and water proof quality of the gloves. I have broad hands, but short fingers. For reference, from the base of my thumb to the other side of my palm, my hand measures about 107mm/4.23inches across and my middle finger measures about 78.4mm/3.1inches from the tip to the base. I find that most Large size gloves fit me decently, if sometimes long in the finger. With these, I found that they are a little tight to get on at first, due to the breadth of my hands. And the length is a tad long (almost a half inch), but not more than I have seen in other gloves. With the gloves on, I placed my hands under a running faucet. As long as I was careful to not get direct water on the connections for the finger/thumb openings, the water stayed out of the gloves. That is, except for the left glove ring finger. Water soaked right through the under side, almost as if the seams or the fabric were not properly treated. It was enough to notice, but not enough to really worry about. I also had a day of wet, icy snow and I wore the gloves while I cleared snow from the driveway and my truck. They held up great and kept my hands toasty. With the weather waffling between freezing fog and spitting snow, I set out to fish. I found that the gloves kept my hands fairly warm, almost perfect if I kept the tips closed. But i was trout fishing with a spinning reel so I walked around and casted quite a bit, and my fingertips stayed chilled. The grip on the gloves was excellent... but the problem was casting. I found that the my line would easily get snagged somewhere on the gloves, most notably the fingertip openings. The first few casts, the line was getting caught all over the gloves, on either hand. At about 10 casts in, I ended up cutting out several feet of tangled line. After that I ended up not using one glove, just so I could cast easier. That worked much better, but I would have to look at my hands before I made each cast, to ensure I was not tangled around my remaining glove. TL;DR - Overall, I would saw these were about the 4.3 out of 5 stars that the current ratings seem to average out to. I think that if you were ice fishing, or otherwise just bait fishing and not casting every few seconds, these gloves would make a great addition to a winter fishing kit. But if you are casting a lot, you might want to go with something much thinner, or just all finger-less wool gloves.

I like to fish year round and with cold weather on the way I thought I would try these gloves, and I'll have to say I am glad I did. I always have trouble finding glove to fit like I want them to, they are always to tight or to lose. These fit me perfect. As soon as I put them on I knew I had made a good choice, they fit just right. Give good grip on the rod, the finger tips fold down on the first two fingers and the thumb to access your phone or cameras. Now with a pair of gloves that fit right I will keep them on instead of taking them off like I did my others and my hands will stay warm while fishing this winter. even if you don't fish I would recommend these gloves for driving or just wearing to keep your hands warm. They would make a great Christmas gift if you know a fisherman. Great gloves I love them.

I used the sizing guide to order a Large size and they fit my hands well. I have not yet had a chance to use these for fishing, but used them outside at home on a 38 degree day. They have a very thin layer of neoprene on the palm side, good for warmth and dexterity, but the back is lycra and did almost nothing to keep my hands warm. Most definitely wouldn't wear these for winter steelhead fishing in Oregon. Maybe a chilly summer morning. There are embossed grippers, maybe vinyl of some sort, which are great for giving a good grip. Excellent wide velcro wrist closure. While the flip up finger tips sounded like a good idea, they performed less well than I had hoped. They were easy to open up and pull my finger and thumb tips out, but getting them covered back up was more of a chore than it sound have been. With the finger tips closed up, like a full-fingered glove, velcro is left exposed on the tops of the fingers that open and the thumb. It catches on everything. Do not put your gloved hand in a fleece lined pocket. It was a fight to get my hand back out. Also, the finger and thumb covers make those digits longer. That left those parts of the glove too long for my fingers and resulted in little dexterity and clumsy movements trying to pick things up. So, while they looked good, and seem well thought out, I just don't see using them for fly fishing, the only type of fishing that I do. Might work better for bait casting, etc. but I don't know. I will probably use them for gardening, car work, or yard work on cool days. Cold weather will call for something else.

Gloves are a good product -- no issues with quality. Recommend getting a size larger if your hand measurement is on the border. Using the glove measurement guide, my hand measured on the upper end of medium (8.5in) so went with medium since large started at 8.75in. I should have gotten large. The stitching on the fingers of the glove where the tips fold back is sturdy but also seems to constrict the finger sizing ever so slightly. The gloves felt good wearing them around the house and yard (when active), but sitting in a tree stand for a couple hours in low 40-degree weather I noticed my index and middle finger tips started losing feeling/blood flow was constricted to the point I had to take the gloves off and put on my bulky backup winter gloves. The rest of my fingers/hand were comfortable so no issues with the temperature.

- I own both the Kastking Mountain Mist gloves and the Polarblast mittens. - Both are fantastic gloves, but Let me tell you the difference… - I’m a bass fishing angler in Texas, and for me these gloves are both awesome, but meant for very different purposes. - The mittens are much warmer, but no water proof. I love the ease of the magnets to open and close quickly. - When fishing with them, as a bass fisherman, I’d never have the mitten part closed. Kept the fingers available, and they never got too freezing. The mittens were awesome in the boat when headed to the next spot. - 5 stars…would recommend - the gloves are great. They are fairly waterproof (except for the areas where fingers come off. The Velcro is nice; though I do think magnets would be better. - If your hands are frequently in the water (kayak anglers!); then these are a much better glove than the mittens - 5 stars!

The best feature is the index, Middle, and thumb pull back to expose the finger tips. I was able to tie on a jerkbait easily without getting the hooks hung up in the glove. Most gloves i end up pulling them off to tie knots. There is Velcro on the back side of the fingers to keep the finger tips of the glove pulled back and out of the way. The gloves have a tacky material sewn on the palm to assist with grip. I would recommend these for temps in the 25 to 45 degree range. If i have one complaint its that the index and middle fingers of the glove are a little tight probably due to the Velcro thats sewn on in the back. This might loosen up as i use them. I wont know about durability till i wear them for a season. I have put the KastKing ice fishing mittens to the test and they seem to be holding up great. I would expect similar durability from these. I have used KastKing products for over two years now and am impressed with the quality..
