I usually wear a medium; I do not like tight fitting shirts. I bought this in large and it fits like a loosely fitted medium. The sleeves are loose; and they are long. I will use it mostly as a sun shield out of the water as well as in so the fit is good for me for out of the water. Update: sleeves are too loose for swimming.
