Big Laces Round Strong Hiking Boot Laces - 110cm to 210cm

I bought these to replace the laces in my Shimano cycling shoes, which are in daily use (so tied and untied twice per weekday). The originals had worn thin and one had snapped, so replacements were urgently required. This was back in December 2016, so they have had a full year of use (or about 2,500 commuting miles) and are not even looking worn in, let alone worn out.I do double the laces over, this is partly because the shoes don't come with any mechanism to keep the laces out of the chain, but also because the laces are quite chunky and this helps them keep tied up - they have never undone on their own, mind you. Photo shows the original brown laces (right shoe) versus the new replacement two-tone lace (left shoe). Much smarter!I will look here next time I need laces, especially for hiking boots, etc.

I bought the black and red laces, 110cm length, and I am very pleased. They arrived very promptly, along with some other laces ordered at the same time. They appear at least as good as those in the Hi-Tec walking shoes when new, or perhaps they are a little better. I also note, as some other reviewers have pointed out, that these laces are very slightly elastic, stretching about 2.5 cm over the length of 110cm. I noticed this as I was putting them in. Well, it turns out the slight stretch seems to make them stay done up better, which is rather good! In fact, I approve.I was supplied with the company business card with my order as delivered. I am going to be keeping that, because I feel I have been well served by the 'Big Laces' people, and will likely use them again... not least because they seem to have a massive range of different sorts of laces. I didn't know there were so many different kinds!(They are only laces, for goodness sake, but it is nice to be able to say so much that is good about them.)

They seem good quality laces, but I have only been using them for 4 months so far so can't tell how long they'll last.WARNING: they are really quite stretchy!! I bought them to replace the laces in my Salomon hiking boots, and whilst I measured the old laces and bought the correct size replacements, these ones end up being quite a bit longer when they are tied up, as they stretch quite a lot whereas my old Salomon ones did not. I have to triple knot them to stop them dragging on the floor. So maybe buy laces a little shorter than you currently have if yours are not elastic.

These laces were bought to replace the ones fitted to a new pair of Scarpa walking boots which were so short it was difficult to tie a single loop with them. The Big laces were of similar quality material but were thicker than those provided by Scarpa. These laces certainly look as if they will last some time.

but the still look good on my boots so I ordered the larger pair for my boots and the smaller pair will go on my black on black on black converse trainers, the service is great the last time I ordered I had the item in less then 24 hours

Lasted for just over a year of hard use rubbing against metal eyelets. Last week the outer braiding finally wore through in one spot, the inner core was fine. Buying a new set right now.For the cost, I can't see doing any better. Plus the range of colour options is fantastic.

June 2018 I ordered 2 pairs of the rasta laces at 140 cm for my docs...my daughter seen them and I immediately had to hand over a pair....you know how it is guys. Just ordered another 2 x pairs coz they're so cool...I just need to buy some more boots for them lol!. They can get a bit grubby through winter...stick 'em in the washing machine...as good as new. The quality is excellent.

Used one of the pair of laces to replace an original one in my hiking boot that has a cleat.This outer layer of this replacement separated from the core in just a few weeks - original lace on the other boot still intact!Replaced the broken new lace with the other one of the pair!Wonder if there is a manufacturing fault here in the bonding of the outer and inner layers?
