THE SIDE AND FRONT COMPARTMENTS ARE FULL OF BB, CO2 CARTRIDGES, MAINTANANCE TOOLS, 3-IN-ONE OIL, CLEANING KIT, ETC. MAKE SURE YOU CK THE LAWS IN YOUR STATE BECAUSE SOME STATES WILL NOT ALLOW THE WEAPON AND LIVE AMMO IN THE SAME BAG. "THIS BAG IS BUILT LIKE A TANK". HOPE THIS HELPS !

How many inside pocket dividers are there ? Need something for a first aid kit for animals.

The small top/side pocket has a divider with 2 small pockets. The main pocket has a mesh pocket/divider. I actually use the same bag for a 1st Aid kit/field bag for my GSP when hunting/hiking.....small enough to keep tucked out of the way until needed

Could you fit a pistol for ccw, while hiking?

Yes In the main compartment, the side pouch is to small. You wouldn't be able to fit much else in the if you wanted easy access.
