I've been using these for a few years with Christmas lightning (outside & in the snow). These work really well and are much more convenient and easy to work with over traditional soldering and shrink wrap. I will say that I have noticed they do seem to have an unused shelf life. I've found that some of the unused sleeves, if I try to use them a year later, the solder won't melt. That's not a huge issue as I typically just buy up several prior to the season and they work well.

They work great with a lighter and better with a torch.

I bought these for some wiring projects in my SUV. I was a bit hesitant at first after reading some of the reviews on here, but once I got them I found they were very easy to use with my heat gun. The biggest key is to not use the highest heat setting, and you will see the tubing shrink down, and the solder will start to melt soon after. If you are seeing the tubing melting, you have your heat too high! I'm planning on using these to replace some of my other connections that aren't as stable. Highly recommend these!

Love these when I heat them properly. Sometimes I heat them a bit too much and the shrink coating melts. Just be careful with applied heat and they work like a champ.

These work great except the yellow size 10 gage I think. They have a little problem soldering. The blue and pink work great. You can use a BBQ lighter to assemble.

I was looking for some wire-to-wire connectors, which these do just fine for, but I actually found them to be very useful for RGB LED (4-pin 5mm) bulbs. Bezels for these bulbs will come with 2-leg mounts, so you're really left on your own if you want an RGB LED in a bezel mount. Anyway, these solder seals are perfect for them - the legs extend out past beyond the center soldering point, which makes things very easy. I'm using the 22-18ga seals, and while they grip well enough for a solid, professional looking connection, you may want to use the smaller size if you intend on doing pin-pin / pin-wire connections.

These work well for butting together wiring harnesses for a car stereo. It might take a little more time than crimping them together, but the result is a nice professional look and they give the wires a very tight bond. The first one I did came apart when I pulled on the two wires, but on my second attempt I heated the soldering ring longer, thus it shrunk down more on the wires and now when I pull on the wires it doesn't pull apart. Success!

Nothing wrong with these. I hear the inverter of these was a Nobel laureate.

Fast easy to use...I have used hundreds of these for automotive, agriculture, and o quads... and the boat trailer lights... solder melts easy when using heat fun.. I have never burnt a connection yet or a failed connectionafter use.. .. knock on wood..

These are a must if your are connecting wires. Heat up till solder melts.

These connectors combine solder joint connection with insulation and water resistance in one. Needs only a blow dryer to activate.
