I just installed a brand new car battery and checked it with the TOPDON BT100. It showed the battery was bad, which probably saved me from being stranded. The battery was under warranty, so I got a new replacement. The tester is very easy to use and gives clear results. I especially like that it’s a true 3 in 1 tool: it tests battery health, checks the engine crank, and measures the charging system. Now I can conveniently check my battery anytime without going to AutoZone or O’Reilly Auto Parts. This is a great value and definitely worth keeping in the car.

Purchased this Top Don battery tester after seeing a couple YouTube videos recommending it as the battery in my suburban was not holding a charge. Tested the battery and it indicated to replace. Tried the Noco battery conditioner but did not resurrect the battery and got a new battery. Yes, I could have driven to the parts store and have them test it, but it is much easier, faster and more convenient to do it yourself and this item let's you do that. To me, we'll worth the price for the convenience of testing at home. That way i can research where I want to get the battery and not feel like I have to get it from the store that tested it for me. Works as it should, nice addition to the tool box.

I have use this now three times for myself and once for the neighbor and has worked perfect and it saves you a trip to the parts store in town. I do like this product it is easy to use, easy to read great tool to have if you have anything battery you need one of these !

This is a quality battery tester that, per several online social media platforms, ranks very high for its price and accuracy. This is a rare product that would rate 5 stars if one of the battery clamps hadn't snapped. Amazon refund will result in my purchasing this item again. Can't beat the price and accuracy! Crisp easy-to-read display; no need to start the vehicle if the battery is still installed; very easy menu navigation to get where you need quickly; remembers CCA and other settings from last use; thick wires don't twist easily; heavy duty battery clamps. I described the battery clamps as heavy-duty, which they are - but the Negative/black clamp snapped on mine after only 3 months of use which I didn't expect. Not a shop; used for single personal vehicle testing only; I always store it inside my center console for easy access but also to protect it; the screen protector from purchase is even still on it without any marring or scratches. I'm guessing a fracture or defect during manufacturing. I looked online and found this product carries a 1 to 2 year limited warranty which requires downloading a form and mailing both form and defective item directly to Topdon if going that route - or calling Amazon. I called Amazon support and the return was processed within 10 minutes with money going back into my account to purchase a replacement. I intent to buy another BT-100. And if that one breaks in the same way then I'm going with better replacement clamps.

Well built and expect many years of use I would recommend this meter for a yearly overview of all your battery so as they near their end of warranty you can return for full refund if they fail this tester. I bought my batteries at Costco for the extra months of warranty I test each battery every 6 months and take photos of the reading and battery information including warranty dates. They push warranty as a selling point knowing most people want take the time to test the battery during the warranty period. Only when it fails that of course will be after the warranty runs out. If you killed your battery even once it’s toast even if it still starts the vehicle or runs the RV. Testing it with this unit is the only way to know and guess what it will be replaced on warranty if applicable. Havo a battery replaced on warranty will more then pay for this unit.

Note: This is NOT a carbon pile tester of old but a great tool to perform a quick check. And it is also much lighter, convenient and more compact than Ol Smokey. I found this works best when directly connected to the battery vs the "access nipples" under the hood on my 2024 Audi A5 when testing for load. My battery in is in the trunk under the spare tire. When tested from the access points, the battery tested low but when directly connected, showed up a more believable 55% on the OEM battery. (Note I live in Florida and the heat takes a toll, so I have "learned" to test periodically.) On my bride's Ford Escape, you have to hold your tongue right to get good connections as the battery is under the cowl and I didn't feel like removing the hold downs to pry it out to get a better hands free connection but on that car, it showed a 80% on a 2 yr old Interstate ostensibly made for the hot climate. The other test functions are viable with the most interesting to me the ac ripple test (anyone who owned a 7th gen maxima can appreciate that early warning as those OEM alternators failed regularly every 100,000 to 150,000 miles with High Ripple (don't know if that issue still exists with their diode packs of today but it ran very hot under the hood and those diodes were NOT mil-spec!! :) ) I also appreciated the "dumb guy" indicators when you didn't ensure a good connection. Really helped with those "DOH!" moments. The voltage reading was spot on when compared to my fluke and old Simpson 260b. Nice Job.
