New York Times bestselling graphic novel! The Joker has been murdered. His killer is a mystery. Batman is the World's Greatest Detective. But what happens when the person he is searching for is the man staring back at him in the mirror? THE JOKER IS DEAD. There is no doubt about that. But whether Batman finally snapped his scrawny neck or some other sinister force in Gotham City did the deed is still a mystery. Problem is, Batman can't remember...and the more he digs into this labyrinthine case, the more he starts to doubt everything he's uncovering. So who better to set him straight than...John Constantine? The problem with that is as much as John loves a good mystery, he loves messing with people's heads even more. So with John's "help," the pair will delve into the sordid underbelly of Gotham as they race toward the mind-blowing truth of who murdered the Joker. Batman: Damned is a groundbreaking supernatural horror story told by two of comics' greatest modern creators: Brian Azzarello ( Dark Knight III: The Master Race, 100 Bullets ) and Lee Bermejo ( Hellblazer, Joker ). This hardcover volume collects Batman: Damned #1-3 and features a behind-the-scenes extras gallery with an afterword by Brian Azzarello. NOTE: Enhanced cover will only be on first printing copies!

Review - Batman DamnedDC BLACK LABELBefore I jump into review I would like to shed some light on DCโs new initiative called DC Black label. Black label editions are comic book series which donโt have any connection with mainstream titles like action or detective comics. They basically are new stories or I should say new take on some of the DCโs main characters. They have some matured and deep stuff which some of the regular comic lovers may find difficult to comprehend. These are the following titles which is released under DC black label.Joker By Brian Azzarello and Bermejo, Luther by the same team, Superman Year One ,Batman Damned. They also released some previous titles under DC Black Label like All-Star Superman, kingdom come , batman white knight all star batman and robin and Batman Arkham Asylum. Some are released in TPB and some in hardcovers.Batman Damned - Non Spoiler ReviewBatman Damned story is penned by Brian Azzarello and drawn by L Bermejo. The series is originally released in 3 single comics as Batman Damned 1 to 3. These 3 further collected in a oversized Hardcover as a single book which released recently. The quality of this book is superb and you can feel it when you hold the book in your hand. Itโs little larger than normal hardcovers and little bit wider in terms of its width. Dust jacket is different from regular and itโs kind of a parchment paper type with translucent material.Inside the just jacket is a full image of Gotham city with full spread.I give this book 10/10 in terms of quality.Story- Batman is badly injured and getting first aid treatment inside the running ambulance van when suddenly he finds his consciousness. He jumped from the van, ran into an alley and tried to contact Alfred. Itโs not Alfred but Constantine who came to rescue him.Than joker found dead in Gotham river and police is investigating his possible murder. Batman also try to solve the case of joker murder. He doesnโt remember anything of the past night, what happened during last night and why he was so fatally injured. Constantine helps batman and several other characters appears in the story like Harley Quinn, Dead Man, Swamp Thing and one surprise character.Scenes from Bruceโs childhood are way different from regular comics. And some of the batman lovers may find it difficult to digest these scenes.Story is beautiful and so is artwork but one can find difficult to understand, once you understand whatโs going on it will blow your mind. I donโt know about you guys but I re read some pages to fully understand the story.Climax of the book is probably one of the best climax in DC.Who killed the joker? How batman got injured? Is Constantine really helping Batman? And what about the climax? You can find the answers only after reading this beautiful comics. My rating isArtwork - 10/10Story - 10/10So the perfect 10 from my side.

Awesome Graphics with Horrible Story...
At first when you just visit random pages, it looks promising because of stunning graphics. Then you start reading and you start to lose plot in first 5-6 pages. No story is made more miserable with confusing panels. If you are not deep in to DC then you will have to visit internet many times during thia bookOverall it is better to ignore it until you want to make a collection of breathtaking art work.

Batman Damned
Batman: Damned is one of the most visually stunning Batman comics I've ever read. The artwork is absolutely phenomenal, with every page feeling like it belongs in a gallery instead of a comic shop. The story leans into horror, mystery, and psychological tension without ever forgetting who Batman is at his core. It's dark, atmospheric, and rewards readers who enjoy a more mature, supernatural take on the character. Whether you're a longtime Batman fan or just looking for something different, this is an unforgettable read. Highly recommended.

A mixed bag
Ignoring the controversy of Bat privates, this is a definite worthy purchase for avid Bat fans. Art is dream-like, eerie and beautiful. Narrative is disjointed with purpose but the writing of Batman Elseworlds or otherwise kind of lacked, painting him as a bit more cruel, narcissistic and broken. The end kind of typifies sound and fury signifying nothing to quote Shakespeare. I liked the journey but did not necessarily love the destination.
