I say approximately because the board is not with me where I can measure them. **Q: Do pieces fall out of storage area over time, when you close the board, because they are on both sides?** A: We have never used the storage, traveling with it. So, to be honest, I cannot speak to that. What I shall say is that it is great quality. Our pieces do not move around unless we intend for them to move i.e. we move them ourselves.
