Review: Best Phone I Have Ever Had and The Intercom Feature is a Blessing - It was time to replace our old expensive 2 line phones as my husband retired last year. I did a lot of research on phones and needed something where I could contact my husband in the middle of the night in an emergency. My husband is handicapped and watches TV most nights for hours as his neurogenic nerve pain keeps him awake. Consequently we sleep in separate bedrooms. I had a serious stroke a couple of years ago upon waking up. Cut a long story short, we both need to get a hold of each other in case of emergency. Along comes this FANTASTIC Panasonic phone system. The intercom feature is an absolute blessing. All I have to do is connect with his room and start talking (or yelling to wake him up) and he doesn't even have to pick up his handset to hear me. We can converse clearly even if he is in the en-suite bathroom. We are both deaf in one ear and if one of us needs to speak to the other somewhere in the house, again, the intercom works so well. A year after my stroke I bought some walkie talkies and they were useless, too fussy to set up channels and noise interference all night etc. Aside from the fantastic intercom, the phone with all its excellent features is such a bargain for the price. I bought five other handsets to put all over the house and I must say the clarity of the voice is absolutely perfect....so much better than our old expensive systems that often crackled. Very impressive phone system and I comment on how much I love the phone after every use. My excitement about this phone still hasn't worn off. Kudos Panasonic and a huge THANK YOU for giving us piece of mind during the night.

**Q: My phone system is from my internet provider and includes an answering system. Can the answering machine with this phone be disabled/turned off?**
A: Does this phone work with an internet provider?

**Q: Can you enter names for each handset so that when you want to intercom, you can choose (for ex) "basement" or "garage" as opposed to a number?**
A: Yes...you can select: "ALL", "BASE", "Handset 1"  or "Handset 2" or "Handset 3", etc. I don't think you can rename the handsets.

**Q: does this phone have power failure backup**
A: Yup, it does!!! When power goes out, you put any handset in the base, and the base powers itself from the handset. How cool is that?!

**Q: Does it have Call Blocking?**
A: I am not sure if it has call blocking on the phone itself however, I do have call blocking on my phones service with AT&T. Maybe you can check with your phone service provider.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good Sound but Limited Lifespan

This Panasonic cordless phone handset works well overall and has several useful features, especially as an extra accessory handset. Setup was simple, the menu is easy to navigate, and the speakerphone feature works nicely for hands free calls. The sound quality is clear, and the volume is loud enough for everyday use without distortion. I also liked the battery life in the beginning because it lasted through multiple calls and standby time without constant charging. However, after a little over two years, the battery performance and overall reliability noticeably declined. The handset started needing more frequent charging, and it did not seem to last as long as expected for a Panasonic product. For the price, it still offers decent value for money, especially if you already own a compatible base system. Just be aware that the long term lifespan may not be as impressive as older cordless phones.
