The only 12v connection I had was to my rear licence plate lights so the camera only works when my lights are on - not an issue at all - and it means I can still use the camera when I'm not in reverse. The hole needed to install the camera needed to be around 11mm to fit the RCA connector through as it isn't detachable, which leaves a larger hole after installing, but I blocked this up with a rubber seal (would be nice for one to come with the camera though). Or i need to rewire the car again?** A: I think (not very sure) it is a 4 pin connector, but, any way, I had 4 pin connector before that ain't work. So just the fact is a 4 pin connector it is not a guaranty that it will be compatible to your system **Q: can this be used as a replacement for a faulty camera using existing wiring or will it not talk to the monitor** A: I just wired to existing wiring just make sure the camera is working mirror view mine was fitted as replacement as original camera stopped working after a couple of years use replaced with no problems used on permanently as a rear view mirror on my van **Q: How long are the cables** A: The video cable (yellow tip) is very long it will definitely reach the length of the car, however the power cable isn’t that long in order to reach a power point on the reverse lights, therefore iv connected the red pigtail on the video cable to the “reverse” cable at the back of the head unit (should have a label saying reverse) and connected the other pigtail to the positive (red) cable on the power lead found out however that there is no need to ground the camera works perfectly fine ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fantastic for the price *by M***E on 7 August 2021* Bought this to attach to the back of my Honda CRV - it is a lot better than I expected.
