Review: Works perfectly. - This product is amazing! The photo was taken 10 days after I drilled and inserted the rods and after a weekend of a substantial amount of rain. Before treatment, I'd see a good arc of damp, after rain, extending 2 to 3 feet up the wall. You can see now that in a short space of time, the product has deflected the damp so that only a small patch appears well below the line of mortar below floor level. I chose to insert from the outside since we have a 9 inch wall... no cavity... and all interior walls are dry lined anyway. I'm frankly amazed at how quickly the dryrod has worked. Excellent product, an easy DIY job and a quick result. Cannot recommend enough.

**Q: It says pack of 50 so is it one pack or five packs with ten in**
A: They come in 5 packs of ten. However Dave people have been reviewing this product without waiting to find out if it works which takes some weeks. I waited after installing in a sound 4 inch wall and can report that it does very little to prevent rising damp ! I’ve had to do it all again and I had much more success with the cream DAMPSOLVE Which created a barrier within a couple of weeks. The rods you are contemplating simply do not contain enough dispersant to impregnate the entire mortar course. Hope this helps

**Q: My house is not typical brick and mortar, it's boulder slate brick, do I just drill 9 inch or where ever I can hit mortar?**
A: These rods prevent rising damp by impregnating the mortar course with a fluid and they consequently need to span the entire depth and length of your wall without gaps. They need to be placed not about half a brick apart at most and if your mortar course is thick I don’t believe they will even be effective at that ! They leech out only a small amount of impregnating fluid and I found theme to be easy to use but poor at damp prevention ! My advice is use the creams such as DAMPCURE which you insert with a mastic gun, really effective, cheaper, and you can always top up the wholes in thick mortar joints !

**Q: Can this be used on concrete walls (affected by rising salt) in tropical area (such as West Africa)?**

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Not as straight forward as you might think

Finally finished done complete 1920's house from outside along top line of engineering bricks. Rods inserted at Perth's. So first point. Instructions not clear. 120mm rod separation or at Perth's? I would say the hole clearing tool is essential and not an option. You cannot rely on drill bit to clear holes. This tool is real quality and does a good job. Don't drill/clear holes one day and come along the next and expect a clean insertion. You will have to drill/clear holes again; especially if it rained. Rod insertion. Rods should not be compressed. So ensure holes are clear and insert in one clean evenly pressured action. If you stop they may jam and not want to be pressed in or extracted. One could ask is the safeguard supplied 12mm drill bit really up to the job and are tolerances just a little too tight. The dryrod cutter tool is a cheap pile of pants. Mine fell apart and blade blunted after only a handful of rods. For the price of this tool I would expect to be able the replace blades, and obviously not to fall apart, see picture. I bought 3 fifty packs and recommended tools. I now need to wait 6-12 months to know if my installation has been successful and to know if dryrods do the job. Would I recommend this job for your average DIYer. Yes, but not as straight forward as one might think. Phone support is excellent. Am I a happy chappie? Time will tell.
