Wanted something different for my library so thought I'd take a chance on this bench. I figured if I didn't like it I could always put it somewhere else. This piece is beautiful! An absolutely great value for the craftsmanship. I'm ordering another one tomorrow.

Would of given a 5 star if it had been actually made in Carolina not China.. It is well constructed and looks like I wanted. Want a cushion as it's in my entryway but can't find on the right size. Maybe someone who has the same bench can let me know if they have found on.. Would recommend this as a good buy for the price..

The first bench I received had wood putty in a hole that a screw would go into. The wood putty cracked out and the screw would not go in. Sent it back. Amazon was great about it and had the second one the next day. Took it out of the box with lots of hope only to be dashed when the seat was messed up. The box looked like it had been returned before me. I know you get what you pay for but I was hoping the quality would be a little better. It was not.I wanted to like this bench so bad but was unable to accept defects. Sent the second one back to get a refund.Price was good....quality was not.

This is not going to be an heirloom furniture piece that you hand down to your children or grandchildren . . . heck, it may not last more than a year or two. As mentioned elsewhere this is one of those put-together-kits and you definitely get what you pay for it. It looks good, but while assembling it we did have to really manipulate a few parts to get everything to fit together. In addition, we had to touch up some spots where the varnish/paint was missed or rubbed off in transit. These issues are not too concerning to be honest, but what is more concerning is whether this will hold up for more than a few years. I guess the word "wobbly" best describes this bench. This is not a piece of furniture put together by hand by a master craftsman with glue and tight fitting joints and as such it just feels cheap and unsubstantial. That said, one can sit in it and it was inexpensive . . .

I was able to put this together myself with the help of one of my kids just to hold a piece or two in place while I attached it. It looks good on our covered front porch. Solid wood.

The bench arrived quickly. In spite of all the packaging, it had some scratches and dings. However, the real difficulty was when we tried to put it together. Some of the pre-drilled holes did not line up correctly. One was off by nearly 1/2 inch. There should be 4 screws attaching the back to the seat, but we could only do 3. Most of the screws were very difficult to line up properly. By the time we figured out what a pain it was to put together, it was completely unpacked and returning it would have been a major hassle. So we pushed through and got it together. It looks fine in our entry way, but anything more than a cursory glance will show that it is a cheap little bench. I do not expect it to hold up well to heavy usage and time.We will never purchase any product by Carolina Cottage again. Nor are we ever likely to purchase furniture via the internet again. (This was our first time.) We will use it as we intended for a time, but just until we find "the perfect piece" for the entry way. Then it will be regulated to an infrequently used area of the house or set out on the curb for a free-cycler.My advice? Keep looking.

This is a beautiful bench.I have seen it for much more on other sites.It is easy to put together. I put it together myself.A great item.

It looks fairly nice for the price, but there were some marks on the wood. When I put the bench together, the alignment of one of the pieces of wood didn't not fit with the joint so I the wood is not firmly connected.
