It works better than our (Copper) landline.
We have a very low broadband bitrate at home. The copper landline is a limiting factor, we're not far from the exchange. (half a mile) This dongle has made school attendance via "Teams" possible. I've not tried it away from home, or in the car, yet, and I did have an issue with it initially, but I think that was possibly down to maintenance work on the local mobile network antennae (not far from here either). Once I'd got connected, this dongle gave a better bitrate measured by the Ofcom speedchecker than the similar one I'd been lent to try out. It may be due to some production difference between the two dongles (both Huawei, both same model), or there may have been an upgrade at the local antennae. Anyway, "Teams" was impossible before, works perfectly now, no stuttering, no pixellation. And the dongle wasn't expensive, is easily portable. Battery life? As it's been connected to a desktop PC USB socket since we've had it, I can't say, but for us, it works well. We could have fibre installed, but the installers would have to dig a way through 60 feet of garden from the connection point at the top of the drive, and they did that badly at our neighbour's property. It's virtually lying on the surface of their garden path where it crosses that, and is just a few inches below the lawn surface... Though they do get a phenomenal bitrate... Anyway, I'd recommend this dongle to others in a similar situation.

Amazing!!!!
This wee device is incredible. Had a mifi before and spent nearly 6 months trying to get it to work. Ended up giving it to my wife as a usb charger. It made me doubt my SIM cards. This wee box insert SIM card and bang works straight away. I can’t tell you how happy I am with this it’s just the best little portable router ever. It’s so small it could fit in your wallet. Honestly don’t look anywhere else I work in IT and it’s amazing value. Only had it 1 day but thoroughly checked out firmware and great features. If anything changes in weeks to come I’ll let you know but it’s a good make so I don’t see this happening.

Works really well
The HUAWEI units appear to be the staple for usage of many telecoms companies around Europe at least. In fairness one set up and it’s straight forward, my worked really well. The range is limited as you would expect. Batteries last last for well over 4 hours and the signal is pretty consistent, this of course will depend on how much mobile 4g signal there is where you are. I would advise buying an unlocked unit so you can switch sims eg a local one if you gone abroad. Bear in mind even if u purchase an unlimited Data, you will be subject to fair usage abroad and in main Europe this is likely to be between 10 and 15gb depending on the net work. ( this will not apply to local sims). Setting up the unit can be tricky and frustrating as instructions are poor. Thank heavens for You Tube. I had to factory reset mine but it worked perfectly after this. Take a photo or write the Id number and password which you will find under the battery. You will need this. The password is only used to set up the unit, to add devices you need the the Long Id and not the password. Yes this is confusing but that’s how it works. In addition when setting up the up you can the QR code doesn’t always work. You will have to find the unit type manually. It will be there possibly in a different colour. Finally don’t be put off by all this . Simply mine works really well and I now use it in the car after a long usage abroad.

Amazing alternative to traditional broadband! (Except for gaming)
I bought this as an alternative for tradition broadband within my house. I decided that I hardly ever use my home phone and never really take full advantage of the low latency fibre optic connection, so why not use a mifi box? At first I was sceptical, it seemed too good to be true. Was all I needed this whole time just a £10 a month data sim and a £40 box to keep me connected? YES! Not only is the box capable of receiving a strong 4G signal from inside my house, but it’s also extremely small and portable. I’m not sure about anyone else but the look of a traditional WiFi routers and all their big flashing lights and wires has never aesthetically appealed to me. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying this alternative is for everyone. Firstly, after running internet speed tests, it’s clear that the latency or ping isn’t as low as what you get with a fibre optic connection which isn’t good news if gaming is what you spend most of your bandwidth on (however I imagine some of the higher end mifi boxes have lower ping capabilities). Secondly, I find the box not so easy to maintain a solid connection, it often turns its self off if I’m not connected for a while. This could just be me not really understanding how to work it properly but it’s one thing to consider. Overall I’m amazed at how good an alternative this is to tradition broadband (and how much cheaper). I can honestly see this being the future with the developments of 5G for super fast connections with ultra low latency. And I would definitely recommend it for households that spend the most of their time on the internet browsing the web or social media. For anyone wondering I bought a £10 per month VOXI sim only plan.

Bloody brilliant
As above bloody brilliant. Small and tidy, easy to setup. Now broadcasting WiFi all over house to 3 smart TVs, 3 Amazon echos and a smart plug. All works a treat. Through an iD pay as you go monthly sim card at £16.00 per month unlimited data. Cheapest easiest broadband connection there can be. I can cancel the iD SIM card when I like if we see a cheaper SIM deal. Excellent.

Purchased to use in a trip to South Africa - stayed in a house near a safari park with no wifi and this was brilliant. Easy to use, easy to set up, good range and battery and super reliable.

Brought this in Philippines and used it for 2mos. This had been a life saver. Works great with any network provider. Connection is strong however Network connections vary in strength depends on where you are in Phils so be sure you choose a good Sim specially if you’re staying in the island or province. I have no problem with the device itself. Battery is up to 6hrs so if you know you’ll be out for longer, a powerbank will come in handy. Next month we will bring this in Europe and hope it works perfectly there as well.
