20+ Giant Duckweed, Spirodela polyrhiza, LiveFloating Plants for Pond/Aquarium

I’d love to be able to say, how pleased I am with my new pond plants. They arrived fresh and alive, a bit smaller than I had expected. However, size wasn’t my problem: after putting them in the water one day, the next day, they were all gone! I have four Koi and I can only think, they ate every single plant!! lol I know, Koi will nibble on pretty much anything, I just wasn’t prepared for all the plants to be gobbled. Will have to re-think how to protect the next batch of plants. Keep this in mind, for your own pond. :) Update: I was thinking about ordering some more of these, but happened to read a few reviews and it seems many individuals have gone through the same ordeal as me. One person did not recommend these for an outdoor pond and I have to agree with them. I’m not going to re-order after all.

Arrived in a neat little plastic bag, green and healthy. It's taking off in my pond container with american lotus, exactly as planned. Especially compared to the other species of duckweed I have, you can see why this species gets the name giant, it's like, 5x times bigger lol. I would definitely recommend if you're in its native range and are looking for native duckweed to grow, it's hard to find elsewhere!

fast shipping but definitely misleading. Duckweed is so small Don't even know if they will grow or at least live to grow in my koi pond. and for the amount of money very little portion is given.

Plants arrived in great condition. I got it for my fish / frog / turtle pond, but it would also be great In a tank. It doesn't seem like much now, but it's duckweed, and will grow quickly. The only "problem" is it's so small , if it rains and your pond overflows, there goes the duckweed. Edited to say, it's now the end of the season and the duck weed did well in my pond this summer. It multiplied quickly. A nice addition to the pond. I brought some in the house to over winter in a fish bowl. Edited again a few months later to say the duckweed I put in a fish bowl is doing great indoors! It's even made some tiny tiny baby duckweed.

Duckweed arrived green but very tiny, and seemed healthy. Placed in my pond and overnight they we all brown and dead. I hadn't placed my fish in yet so it wasn't that. They just died in the pond.

The plants I received were low quality, half dead, had almost no root system whatsoever, AND on top of this disappointing sundae there were BUG LARVAE in my plants. I also bought their dwarf water lettuce and it was in even worse condition. Almost every plant I received, in both bags, was sickly looking, unhealthy, and half yellow. Spend your money elsewhere cuz this is a waste!!

The plants arrived in acceptable condition -- maybe 30% were dead but this is typical for mail order plants and if you put them in a healthy aquarium they should be thriving in no time. I had two problems with this product, the first is the quantity -- very small. Each order was in a small plastic container -- about the size of a plastic ketchup cup you might use to dip your fries in at a burger place. For this reason, this product is not the best value. The second problem is that the packaging was bad. On of my aforementioned ketchup cups had come open in the shipping envelope and the plants inside were scattered about the envelope. I was able to save most of them, but it was messy. However, if you don't mind waiting for the plants to propagate on their own, this is an acceptable product.
