I took Spirulina because I had read a lot about its benefits in the internet. Also because my brother had taken it (long ago) and he had seen good results.So I took it for around 2 weeks, and boom, I got hospitalised. I am now diagnosed for having macrocytic anemia, a condition caused by lack of vitamin b12 and folate (vitamin b9).I googled and found out that Spirulina hinders b12 absorption because it has a molecule which resembles b12 and hence our body cells absorb this pseudo-b12 instead of real b12.I am a vegetarian, hence a restricted diet, hence don’t get much b12 already!!!I had done research on spirulina’s side effects before taking it but nobody talks about this. When I specifically searched, I found only one doctor who talked about it.It also depends on your body type. My brother is a vegetarian too. It worked for him but not for me. Still, it’s best to stay away and not to experiment with our bodies with these heavily marketed things.I hope this review helps you.
