One can learn a lot from reading how to books... and all books in general when one is considering trying something new to you. I took several points from this read and will go out and try something that most people have done all their lives and were taught by someone else. This book gives one a good baseline on the subject and I would recommend it to anyone considering taking up freshwater fishing. I not saying it's a complete guide but it covers or introduces one to the sport/hobby.

I got this as a surprise for my boyfriend who has been teaching himself how to fish. Its the perfect reference guide to carry along in the tackle box

The book is informative for a beginner. I only gave it 3 stars because I could not believe that it is printed in China. Have Americans forgotten how to everything?

A quick read that every beginning angler should read. This book helped me identify rookie mistakes, and gave me a game plan for future outings.

I bought this as a guide to throw in my bag and expected to see things more aimed to actual fishing. The looking for a fishing spot section isn’t very helpful and one point they mention to actually go on google to look. Obviously we have all done that. Only tells you how to tie 5 knots. Doesn't have information easily available for active fishing. This book is more for reading about the fish. I would recommend just putting together your own notes from google then purchase this book for $10.
