Thanks for your inquiry. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience that might cause to you. It might be caused by 2 ECUs of your vehicle, could you please kindly update this scanner and try to do as following?

1. Could you please kindly try to update? That might be a quick way to help you solve the issues. Here we attach the steps of upgrade for your reference. Please download the software on : http://www.foxwelltech.com/product/item-278.html and connect the NT201 to your computer then press and hold I/M key while connecting the usb cable .(Kindly Note：it supports system: Win98/NT, Win ME, Win2000, Win XP, VISTA and Windows 7, but it cannot support Windows 10 system and Mac), then click Update on line.

2. According the details information you provided, there are maybe 2 ECUs on your vehicle, when you connect scanner to your vehicle, it will show the protocol of your vehicle at first, then you might see the "Control Module"-- $7E9 and $7E8 module, the fault codes might located in the one or the other. If the fault codes located in the $7E9 and you choose the $7E8 module and try to read fault codes, the result might be the same as you attached (It will not "read the fault codes"); only you choose the $7E9 module and read codes, it will show the fault code definition on the screen and help you fix the problem.

Can I clear service engine soon light with this code reader ?
