Tasty addition to our acai bowls

I admit that when I tried these for the first time, I wasn't too impressed with the taste. Being the kind of person who hates for food to go to waste, I kept munching on them. The more I ate, the better they tasted. I ordered two more bags before the first one ran out. When I crave chocolate, I turn to these tasty snacks. It doesn't take a lot of these to satisfy my chocolate cravings. I feel it's only fair to warn you, though, that once you get started on these, the chocolate you buy in stores won't taste the same. It tastes way too sweet, but maybe it's just me. Still, I plan to keep a supply in the house for my chocolate fix. They're also great for those days when you just don't feel hungry and can't seem to work up an appetite. If you're like me and get nauseated and/or have hunger pangs when your stomach is empty for too long, pop a few nibs into your mouth. Works like a charm for me!

I was looking for something to add a little bit of crunch to my smoothies and decided to go with the Cacao. I was a little apprehensive when I looked at the nutrition facts (1oz is 10g of fat) but then I realized that an ounce is QUITE a large serving (25% of the bag, which is not small), and I was just looking to throw a handful into my smoothie. The Cacao Nibs blended up nicely - they retained their taste and texture, but even with ice-crushing blending, they still remained solid. They just broke down into tiny little bits of crunchiness, which was a welcome addition to my smoothie. For those looking for a replacement for chocolate- Cacao Nibs are similar, but they do take some getting used to. They are not smooth and creamy like processed chocolate. But they have that lovely soft bite to them, and the chocolate essence is definitely there. I'm not ready to replace ALL chocolate with them, but in my smoothies, and in baking, and as a topping for ice cream, etc. these are a great start.

It was not as I expected it

At least as far as I know. I started using non-African cocoa because 99% of American chocolate is made from beans harvested by child slaves. I like this brand, it's a good price, its from Peru, the taste is great and it comes in a variety of ways. You can make your own choc syrup for ice cream, plus ice cream, cookies, frosting, all that yummy stuff and never melt anything in the microwave again. Anyway - I highly rec this cocoa.

Love to add these to Greek yogurt and ice cream.

These cacao nibs are a lot sweeter than others I've tried, which was exactly what I wanted.These disappeared out of the bag without my noticing - I blame the flatmates!

Wow, these surpassed my expectations honestly I did not think I would like them I thought they would be bitter but little did I know that they are quite the opposite, they have the perfect balance of sweetness and crunch! When I crave a snack now, I grab these instead of a chocolate bar! That is how good this stuff is! Eat them on it's own or throw them into your cereal or smoothies.

I usually grind these up to powder and then sprinkle on my cappuccino ! Great product.
