Works Great.
These are great to alert you that something or someone is nearby close enough to set off the alarm. I had a problem with my doorbell and set one up on the wall nearby. anytime someone comes to the door the chime goes off. I set the chime to a doorbell sound. works great.

Awesome detector !!
I have tried numerous driveway alarms, some solar, some battery powered. This one is by far the best. No false alarms at all so far. No difficult set up. All you need is a 9 volt battery. Highly recommend you try it.

Replacement to old system
Purchased a 1st generation several years ago. The system finally died. Purchased this new updated one. It is simplified and smaller. It also has more alert tones. You can connect upto 16 sensors. Looking to purchase a few more soon.

Random and Unreliable - Not weatherproof
I purchased and installed this item and an additional sensor about a month ago. The attached picture shows that the unit is installed within 50' of the receiver, which is located in a window with a clear line of sight to the unit at a slight angle to catch nearly any object height passing through. The sensitivity is set to 'Medium', and it is approximately 6' from the driveway. Sometimes it works and sometimes it does not pick up a vehicle. Some vehicles it will NEVER pick up. The second unit is located about 100 yards from the receiver, and performs slightly better, but exhibits the same random function. I have tried putting fresh batteries in the sensors, but same result. Kind of an expensive item from what I thought was a reputable Manuf. to function in this way. For this application, you do not need something that only functions properly some of the time. There is not much in the way of troubleshooting advice in the instructions, so maybe there is something I am missing, but I have installed motion sensors professionally for decades, so I am pretty sure I am good on the install. I was going to add an under the drive probe and remote, but doubt I will as that is too much coin to spend for a random result. I have had the hard-wired Cartell version of this in the past, but lightning always takes these out eventually if you run the shielded cable any distance. I was hoping this would solve that problem. Further update: Part of the problem here is that the units are NOT weatherproof as stated. One of mine began going off constantly a short while after I bumped up the sensitivity to 'High'. Took it off the mount & noticed water droplets on it. When opened, it had a considerable amount of water inside. Mounted vertically on a tree trunk. See the 2nd Pic to ID the issue. While there is a gasket, the ridiculous screws that attach the 2 halves together do not seal the middle. You can see the gap with tightened screws in the photo. In addition, they are on the wrong side of the unit, so that every time you change the battery or make adjustments, the loose tiny screws fall out of the back of the case & have to be kept track of - outside in the leaves. Good luck not dropping at least one every time. This is all just dumb stuff that is usually attributable to cheap Chinese outsourcing. Inexcusable for something that is not a cheap alternative. Hard to believe that other users have not had these same issues.

NO Surprise 'Visitors' :)
Unit works consistently well with no 'false alarm' aggravations. The range is great and the external relay / 12v options are superb and work well. To be honest, some of the alert 'tone' options are nutty / obnoxious, however i found one that suits my Cat an I fine :).

Excellent, with a couple caveats
I bought this to replace an older Dakota Alert Series 3000 which finally died. This new one is much better. I've had it up and going for nearly a week and have not gotten a single false alarm nor has it missed any cars pulling into my driveway. Setup was simple. The signal seems powerful. While I only have it about 75' from my house, my house has steel siding and the signal gets through. I have a second receiver in my basement and I get a signal there. I had a couple minor questions and Dakota Alert's customer service was quickly responsive and helpful, getting back to me within the same day. Very good customer service. Why I didn't give it five stars: 1) there is no off switch on the receiver, you've got to unplug it. 2) The clam-shell plastic case on the transmitter seems much less rugged than on the old 3000 series, and I worry the case will warp and let water in over time. No way to know though.

Works Perfect For My Business
As promised. Totally delivers. Loud enough without being overbearing, and my business is a boarding kennel with lots of barking dogs.

You will need to use a UK plug if using in UK
I brought this as an upgrade to the older 2500/3000 series' It comes with a USA 110v power supply so if using in the UK you will need to source a power supply. I was lucky because the old UK power supply I was using on the old system fitted. Is a good upgrade on the older system and is more reliable at detecting vehicles.

WHAT A WASTE OF TIME !!!
Absolute waste of time. The receiver doesn't take batteries, but DOESN'T come with a power supply either. Messaged the seller and he said it doesn't come with one and to actually use the product you have to go and buy a power supply! What a waste of time......
