I really love this water bottle. Yes, the price point is on the higher side, but for someone who drinks a lot of water all day and doesn’t really want to have to wash their water bottle regularly, this is perfect. The battery lasts for several weeks. I washed it once when I first got it and haven’t washed it since. It’s been a couple months now, and the water looks, tastes, and smells just as clean as it did on day one. Since this bottle uses UV light, it’s only killing bacteria for you; it’s not doing anything to eliminate minerals and/or heavy metals. So as long as you fill it with filtered water, it stays fresh …… pretty much indefinitely, it seems. Super happy with this purchase.

This product is beautifully designed and really does make water taste better. It also maintains the temperature very well.

Putting in my two cents here... UV-C light falls in the only spectrum of UV that can affect DNA replication. The light is enough to stop replication, not completely kill the bacteria. That’s enough for commercial use, both in the UVC wands, phone cleaners, and this water bottle. Why? Cells that do not replicate cannot infect. I do not understand the notion that the light ‘does not kill chemicals secreted by bacteria, which makes you sick’. Bacteria makes you sick. And if you disrupt the dna activity of everything in the bottle, there’s nothing alive that would be harmful. There is no perfect water. Don’t even get me started on how many CFU (coliform forming units- or fecal matter contamination) there is in tap water and bottled water. This water bottle comes pretty darn close to perfect. It doesn’t ‘filter’ so you will occasionally get a metallic taste from various sources- water with lower pH, the metal in water from older pipes. Should be fine as long as there’s not high lead levels. Every city has a water report that tells you the content, including if there’s fluoride (good for you), lead (not good for you). Also a stainless steel container is not one that ‘encourages’ biofilm activity- that would be plastic, which this is not. There are several reviews floating on the interweb from medical ppl doubting that it would work or that UVC light DOES work. As a general rule, don’t side with a camp that makes claims without evidence. Research. Science. “Trust me, I’m a doctor” is only a t-shirt slogan. A good doctor can explain to you why- with both the research done and clinical effects. I’ve never used that phrase and I don’t plan on it. Tl;dr —- The Larq water bottle is great for travelers, nomads, water purists like me. UVC light is proven to de-germ. It does not filter which is generally okay. A little bit of metal is fine, a lot of lead in your city water is not. Please stop upvoting unproven claims.

Update Nov 3 Costumer service from LARQ contacted me, and offered a full refund, i was pleasantly surprised, i call this an outstanding support. In light of that i upgrade my star rating. Thank you Larq! ‐‐------------------ So it's a total bust, the so called cleaning is worked for 3 months, and after that is orange ring on press, and no auto matic cleaning comes on. It looks stylish, it does keeps cold for about 16 hours but the UV cleaning is a crapshoot of how long it will function. Just buy it if you like it without the UV cleaning option. I was expecting more for a $100 water bottle, I am more than disappointed... In general, I can't recommend it

I don’t do many product reviews... particularly positive ones, but this product has truly earned it. The first of its kind, the Larq is a bottle that claims to self-sterilize. You know what? It appears to do just that. The water tastes good after running a cycle, the bottle doesn’t smell, and it looks and feels awesome! Just don’t drop it.. the double insulated one is relatively heavy with water in it. I get the sense that it will dent or pick up scratches. The cap is also an expensive piece of hardware and if you drop it on that it may get damaged. If you’re prone to dropping things, invest in a sleeve, sling or go with something else that isn’t as expensive I bought it because I needed a new bottle and it looked like an interesting concept. In short, if you have a good track record of taking care of things and not losing them, this bottle does appear to deliver on what is promised. Highly recommended.

A family member ordered one, it worked fine for about a month on the initial charge. One day, while initiating a normal cleaning cycle with the cap on the bottle, the light ring turned orange. I initially thought it was low on battery, so I charge it. It turned solid green relatively quickly, indicating a full charge. We attempted to use it again, and it worked fine. However, when attempting to use it again later the same day, the cap turned orange again. Without reading the manual, I thought it was indicating low battery again, so I plugged it in. It turned solid green after only a few minutes. I couldn't get it to work again, it was always the orange light, so we returned that one to Amazon and order a new one. This one was shipped directly from LARQ, costs $9.95 in shipping. I just received the new unit today, after reading the manual again, I realized the orange light meant the ambient light sensor thinks the cap is activated outside of the bottle, not a low charge. So the light sensor malfunctioned in a month. The new unit also has a tiny chip on the bottle. The product is based on a good idea, but it is manufactured in China, so quality is questionable. I just hope the new one will last more than a month. In hindsight, maybe I should not have ordered it again. I cannot fully recommend this product, based on it's questionable reliability and quality, expensive price, and it's made in China. Update: The bottle cap is not water tight. If you put ice cold water in the bottle, you can see condensation and water inside the bottle cap. This happened to 2 bottle caps. When this happens, the cleaning cycle will not activate, you get the orange light. I contacted LARQ support about this, they haven't responded in 7 days. Either I have bad luck or the bottle cap has a design flaw.

This product is beautiful all around. Not only does this bottle look great, but it's built to feel like you'd expect a $120 water bottle to feel. Many on here complain how this bottle does not reduce the TDS (the amount of contaminants dissolved) in their water. While filters are designed to remove dissolved solids, this bottle's strength is using UV light to denature the genetic material of bacteria and viruses. While water may not appear *visibly* clean, this bottle aims to reduce the biological contamination. This bottle stays clean, it's easy to use, and it keeps water cold for quite some time. My only complaints would be that the mouth is too small to fit all kinds of ice, and I wish the LED indicator lights were a little brighter in the daytime. TL;DR....This product is great. While it does not remove visible icky stuff, it maintains an environment where bacteria and other little germy dudes can't survive.

Die larq Flasche ist mit Abstand eine sehr teure Flasche, wenn man einfach nach einer Trinkflasche sucht ist man hier falsch. Wenn man aber nach einer hochwertigen und qualitativ hochen Flasche sucht ist man hier gold richtig. Die Flasche ist sehr gut verarbeitet und man fühlt das es sich hierbei um ein Marken Produkt handelt. Die beworbene kalt/warm Haltung ist sogar etwas zu gut da heißer Tee sogar bei offenen Deckel teilweise 1.5-2.5 Stunden braucht um auf trink Temperatur abzukühlen. Man kann heißen Tee einfüllen und die Flasche für 6h in die gefrier truhe legen und der Tee wird immernoch angenehm warm sein. Die selbst saüberung funktioniert sehr gut und die Flasche fühlt sich merkbar sauber an in Vergleich zu anderen Flaschen. Das schmeckt man auch raus. Der Akku hält mehrere Wochen ohne Probleme. Wer eine gute Flasche für allwetter oder lange auflüge sucht hat hier die perfekte Wahl gefunden.
