Save money and nerves and get a smartphone instead
Negatives:Poor vocabulary - the dictionaries list only about 20 to 25 thousand words. (I checked my native Czech as well as European Portuguese. Expect the same with the other languages.)Other sources (Thesaurus, Britannica etc.) are similarly simplified.Poor screen - low definition, reminds desktop computers of the good old eighties.Poor text-to-speech - voice in some languages sounds too robotic and nearly incomprehensible.No speech-to-text.Spoken Portuguese and Spanish are always Brazilian and Latino-American variants, respectively, even if you select Iberian.Analogically there is only American English. No RP or other forms.Some of the advertised languages are missing. No Polish, Greek or Finnish. And only 25, not 26, in total.No support - I wanted to add more languages - not possible. No downloadable extensions. I wanted to add Hungarian and was advised to buy another (more expensive) product.Counter-intuitive and complicated interface.No direct two-way translations. You have to go to the settings first. No language recognition.Positives:2x AAA bateries (which I prefer to any expensive built-in battery) - no charging on the way, just replace them.Switching off very fast, moderately fast turning on.Summary: crap! I keep kicking myself for buying that. Do not make the same mistake.

Disappointed
It did not offer the quality of translation which I had expected nor did it enable me to translate in both directions. Perhaps I had misunderstood what it would do for me. Please indicate its capacity to translate from English to the foreign language and from the foreign language into English.

Not quite as easy to use as advertised
As a language teacher, I was expecting this equipment to be easier to use- It is a little complicated to follow the directions and use but after some practice, I got used to it.

terrible product
I got this for my mother to replace old broken Ectaco 500. It is not similar to the old one, has very poor owner manual, does not respond to the commands shown in the manual. Returned.

Don't buy this!
I just received this product and after trying to work with it for a few hours I have decided to return it. It is not at all user friendly. I can't even figure out how to set the time and date?? The tutorial is awful, and the manuals are horrible. I bought this item because it had a high rating with consumers. Boy did I make a mistake. Steer clear of this product folks!

Translator needs Translating
Directions for use very unclear and in broken English. I was advised to call the company to get help on a non toll free number. The phone call alone would have been cost prohibitive. Never had a chance to use it as too confusing and I have used all types of technology for 20 years
