Nice little extra gift I got for my husband. Well made

I made some little corner protectors from some scrap leather. Makes it a bit grippier on your tabletop, puts some distance between the box and the tabletop to prevent scratches, and hopefully will protect from the inevitable corner bumps that will damage the cheap box. CONS: --The veneers on the exterior and on the playing surface make it look pretty, but it's mostly very cheap lujan plywood. The rest of it is built just like a cigar box. It's pretty, but really, you're buying something with the same build quality as a cigar box. --The edges everywhere are rough and sharp. I had to knock them down a little with some sandpaper. --There are no feet or corner protectors, so the finished surface will rest directly on your tabletop when you're playing. It might slip around a little or it might not, but the exterior will definitely start to show scratches and wear very quickly. --Some of the checkers are more oval than round due to shrinkage from the wood drying after being cut on the lathe. The felt pads on the checkers are useless. -- The finish on the dice cups is slopped on and very rough. --Another irritation is the great big ROPODA logo slathered on one side of the box. It just doesn't need to be there. There's no brand cachet for ROPODA, so it's just vandalism having put on there, as far as I'm concerned. I used some stripper to remove the logo and refinished that side with some polyurethane, and looks much nicer now. Overall, you should be getting a better product for $39.99. These are cheap problems to fix.

It is well made. Has no defects. The weight is good. It is not the best high end product. And is not fair to do such comparison. If we compare it to products with the same price this is a good one. Also, It comes with extra dices.

A bit too small and even that it looks OK it fells cheap, you will need to buy a 7mm dices since the one comes in the kit are big and not fun to play with

Doesnt take much space, great carry on for outdoors and not too tiny so its not pain to hold and move the pieces. And awesome pricing compared to others. Overall highly recommend it!

For the price this is a great backgammon set. Comes with everything needed and is well built. Everything is wooden. The case, playing surface, checkers, dice cups, and even the dice. Small and portable but large enough to easily play on. The felt under the checkers is a nice touch as it helps keep the checkers from sliding around while playing a game. We've been really pleased with the set and it looks nice on the shelf with the rest of our wooden games. Other larger wooden sets were roughly 3 times the cost (much nicer sets of course) but this little set holds up and is well built. Highly recommend...
