It didn't come loose unless I wanted it to by moving my face in certain ways to loosen it. It was also not to hot to where around my neck when we went hiking. I have washed them several times a week and they do not show any wear or tear. They worked out from about 40⁰ to 20⁰. It would work for colder temperatures than that I believe but it never got colder than that here. My kids and I wore them out on the slopes and had almost no problem with them. The good: thick, kept us warm, easy to use, and we were able to breathe well without fogging up our goggles for most of the day in 13 degree temperature. They look good, and price was great also. While lunching in the car, I threw them on the defroster and they dried quickly too!
