NICREW ClassicLED Gen 2 Aquarium Light, 25 Watts, Dimmable LED Fish Tank Light with 2-Channel Control, White and Blue LEDs, Size 30 to 36 Inch

I'm about 2 years into being an Aquarist and received a 30 gal tank and supplies from a neighbor who hadn't used it in many years. It had one of those traditional black plastic hoods with bulged section for the fluorescent tube light. It was fine, I was just starting out and it didn't cost me much to start the hobby. I enjoyed it except the one annoyance of not being able to use a timer with a fluorescent light. So having to turn on/off all the time and sometimes being out my fish spent some time in the dark until I came home to put the light on. So my search began recently after seeing so may nice online pictures of pristine aquariums beautifully lit. I first searched for complete LED hood sets to replace what I had, but all seemed cheap with mixed reviews. Then started seeing these light bars for tanks and wondered how those work with hoods. Then progressed my search onto glass tops that fold and this light bar sit over one section. Not bad I thought. Ordered this light and glass top only to find the glass top is like a 1/16th too wide to sit inside the tank opening on the ledge. Damn! Then remembered my old tank hood actually separates from the Fluorescent light part and reveals a glass window. Well this light bar fits right over that perfectly and rests on the edge of tank with it's extendable support bars. WHAT A MAJOR TRANSFORMATION!!! It's like a new aquarium and I am newly enjoying the aquarium. Get rid of your fluorescents if you still have them! Wonderful brightness with blue mood settings, mix of white/blue, just white and dimmable as it says. So nice. So what about my timer dilemma? It has a 8, 10 and 12hr setting. So I set it one day expecting it to go off on its own. It does. But viola! It also comes back on again at the same time next day you turn it on prior day! So a complete timer all by itself now comes on at 11am and goes off by itself at 11pm, with no other plug-in timer needed. Want more?? Well how about this! It is fish friendly for those slow morning risers and nocturnal type fish, cause it comes on dim first then brightens to max on its own. Opposite at night with it going dim to blue for a while before shutting off. TOTALLY AWESOME!! LOVE IT!! and Highly recommend this product. Looks like good quality to me and longevity I can't say at this time. But I am super happy I bought this product!! Well designed and thought out. Has re-energized by aquarist hobby mood!

The first one I bought had a scratch on the top so I returned it without any problems. The second had no problems. It’s very bright and fits my tank better than my previous light. Easy to adjust the different shades of light because of the separate blue and white light controls. The 3 timer options are very convenient and I like the gradual on and off effect that simulates sunrise and sunset. Overall a very good purchase for the price. I would recommend this light to others. *Additional 3.12.24- light stopped working about 3 weeks after warranty expired. Called customer service and they had me try a couple of things. Turns out that it was the controller and not the light. They sent me out a new one at no charge and the light works again as good as new. Very pleased that Nicrew stood behind their product. Very satisfied customer!

I’m 65 years old and I’ve had an aquarium in my home since I was 9 years old! Up until now I only used fluorescent lightbulbs despite the fact that they were constantly burning out and having to replace them at eight or nine dollars a bulb! I have a 50gallon aquarium and the hood and bulb kept shorting out after 3 or 4 months! I bought them on Amazon and true to form I returned the defective hood and bulb and they sent me a replacement but sure enough this one also shorted out! After researching the issue I decided to go the LED light route and I was STUNNED! This aquarium light is amazing as to the brightness it puts out and the options it provides! Not only that it looks fantastic on top of my aquarium! 100 x times better than my old fluorescent tube hood that I have used for years and years! Who ever said you can’t teach an old dog new tricks sure was wrong when it comes to this new LED Aquarium light! It’s quality made through and through and should last me a very long time! It fit my existing tank perfectly! It’s easy to use and operate and there countless light options that make owning an aquarium such a joy! If your like me and have out grown the old fashioned fluorescent tube aquarium light ~ don’t even think about buying another buy this LED light I promise you, you won’t regret it! It was actually $7 cheaper than the fluorescent hood light I was going to buy!!!

These lights are great for growing low tech aquarium plants. For all those reviews saying there is no on/off button, please read the instruction manual. You press M to turn on the light and press and hold M to turn off the light. The ONLY and I mean ONLY problem with these is the controllers. They go out sporadically for no apparent reason but if you replace the controller (sold individually by the seller) the light works great again. There is no other light on the market that is as good for plants at the price. I am running 9 of these lights in various sizes and now have a few new controllers on hand in case one shorts out. Despite this problem its still an excellent light for a steal of a price. I use Twinstar lights on my 3 tanks with co2 so im not afraid to spend money but like I said you can't beat the price on these lights.

I like the customization of the white and blue light. It's also very easy to use the various features (e.g. the timer and manual night light). The customer service is also great. I had an issue with the module turning on the night light for no reason. Customer service was easy to reach. They sent me a new module without hassle. Absolutely recommend the product and the company.

I was looking for a LED solution for a 70 gallon acrylic tank we recently set up. We did a custom stand under our 75" 4K TV. I decided to keep the two 24" florescent fixtures that came with the tank and install these inside. This 70 gallon tank is 5 feet long which made finding a single light pricey and not really having the look I wanted for an entertainment system. These fit perfectly in the fixtures and keep that original look. These lights are VERY bright. All the way up is too much for this tank but that's not a bad thing. The controller is lacking. The buttons are very sensitive, the dimmer is basically a handful of different settings, and having to adjust two separate lights on this tank was not going to work for me. My solution was to upgrade the controller. I am currently using the "Current USA Ramp Timer Pro " to adjust both lights simultaneously as if it were one long unit. I had to use a splitter but these can be for found cheap on Amazon. Most of these controllers have a range of 12-24V so it is perfectly safe to upgrade your controller. Just make sure you use the power supply that came with your light, or one with the same voltage. I will provide a few Amazon links for what I am using with this light. This light is excellent! The tank we bought came with a LED strip light that connects inside your tank and it lit the tank up sufficiently so we were considering sending this back. That was until we turned it on and WOW this is a great light. Fits perfectly on the 60gal and is customization. You can control the white and blue lights independently so you can achieve "that certain look" you are going for in your tank whether that is bright white or dimmed down to a softer white or even washed out to be more flat which brings out the greens and yellows more and then in the evening I have been adjusting the blue light to create a "sunset" if you will. From your bright white you can slowly kick up the blue and bring down the white by pressing the buttons and eventually go full blue but even further the blue can be dimmed very low almost like a "moonlight". I know most people probably won't go this far for their fish but the option is there. It is great light and says full spectrum so I look forward to seeing how the plants react. I have only had it for a few days as of this review but it is a great light. My only drawback is the light is so long that the thin metal bars that slide in and out that allow the light to stand just above the top are thin and flexible and given the light is so long it bows because of this. It is still above the glass and not touching but maybe want to consider using a sturdier metal housing for the light so it does not bend as easy. Also I would consider getting a remote to control the light remotely. It is not a huge deal walking to the tank to adjust the setting but I think a remote could help make the customization easier for users and more functional in general. The adjuster controls are simply three buttons so you have to play around with it at first to figure out but a remote I feel could really make this light over the top great. Other than that, it is a great light and I am very happy with it.

Works great for about a year, then died out. Bought a 2nd one hoping the 1st was just bad luck,and it did the same. Won't bother with a 3rd attempt.

I love it, very bright and high quality for the money. 2 of the 18-24inch sets fit perfectly on my 55 gallon aquarium. Very aesthetically pleasing and I like that it’s flat, not curved like some lights out there. It has pretty bright white and blue lights with lots of settings, all work well. One thing I would want to change is, it doesn’t have an actual on/off switch, it just has different setting so I need to actually unplug it if I want it off. So far so good though. I just keep it on the lowest blue setting at night. Brackets were a bit difficult to put into the lights but it worked out well. Overall I give it a 4.5 out of 5. Very high quality but not completely perfect... in my opinion. Definitely worth the money and I would by from this brand again!

I really like the light for my 15 gallon tank. I do have a planted tank and this was the only light available in the size I needed. Time will tell if it is enough light. The only thing I don’t like is the timer. It is easy enough to use but I much prefer the timer on the Classic LED for planted aquariums. I was excited to see a timer can be purchased separately until I realized this is a 2 channel timer and it will not be compatible. I will one day buy a timer for this light to have it come on when the other 4 tanks come on. Aside from that the packaging and shipping was great and the light is working.

Giving it 5 stars for value vs money. Just to set things out, my aquarium's dimension are 24" x 12" x 10" (12 gallon). The light is bright enough to grow well Monte Carlo, Dwarf Hairgrass and Rotala Vietnam H’ra. Light brightness is adjustable. Only a few minors things about this lamp. There's no timer but this can be easily corrected by connecting it to a mechanical or smart timer. The height isn't adjustable and the lamp stands near the edge of the tank. I don't know if Nicrew sells optional adjustable feet, haven't seen any on Amazon. The light isn't waterproof so if the tank is equipped with a bubbler or if water splashes a lot, you might want to consider a waterproof light. In general, this light is perfect for my needs and I would recommend for a similar setup.

This product has replaced my Nicrew RGB+ light. I like the ease of use and flexibility on the RGB+ but it wasn't bright enough to light my planted tank the full 24" deep so some of my needier short plants suffered. This one is noticeably brighter and in just a week I have noticed an increased growth rate in several of my plants, especially my mosses. I may buy a second light down the line but I am definitely looking at getting an inline dimmer for it as I am not a fan of the controller for this light. Overall I am quite happy with this purchase. One thing to note: I chose not to have this shipped in a concealing package it's own packaging to save the extra packing materials. My package was delivered quite heavily damaged, to the point that I figured that the light *had* to be damaged, but thankfully the products inside were fine. Your mileage may vary but next time I'm opting for the additional packaging.

The quality is amazing for the price value, the lights are completely customisable with timer settings and brightness. This has saved my aquarium single handedly. My aquarium was on the brink of death and I didn't realise I needed a good quality light. I'll always come back to this for any lighting needs. The night light doubles as a secondary light for my houseplants too, as it brights up the room! It may not work for a bedroom where you sleep, but having this in the living room is great so during the night you don't have to turn on any additional lights.
