Fits and works like OEM
This fits and works like it should. This ended up not being my problem, but helped rule out it being the problem. Check wiring and voltage to this solenoid before replacing. Found my wiring damaged under the truck and no voltage.

Fix that P0456 code
When my 2012 Ford Focus pulled a P0456 code research pointed to either the Evaporative Canister Vent Solenoid Valve or the Vapor Canister Purge Solenoid being the culprit. Thus, I ordered the DORMAN 911-216 Evaporative Canister Vent Solenoid Valve and the Ford BV6Z-9D289-B, Vapor Canister Purge Solenoid. After clearing the code no more MIL check engine light. The Dorman part is difficult to install, and I experienced no quality issues contrary to other reviews. The Mortorcraft part is the correct part for the 2012 Ford Focus SE 2.0 contrary what the Amazon fitment says.

Make sure you order the right one, There are several choices!
I had to send this item back because it was the wrong part. Different y tube shorts showed two different choices. I did not look close enough to my car and chose the wrong one. I was able to order the right one and it solved the problem although it cost quite a bit more. This item seemed to be constructed very well and contained the proper gaskets and orings. Just be careful about what you order.

Fit with 2016 Ford Edge Titanium
Used this part to get rid of error code p1450 on 2016 Ford Edge Titanium 4 cyl. Had difficulty applying enough pressure to get the new part to click in. Had to take out the complete housing assembly in order to get this part to connect correctly. Assembly box went back in easily after that. Saves a few hundred on a mechanic repair.

Fit, but not function
I own a 2020 ford ranger 2.3 2wd automatic with 41k miles as a reference. My thanks to Amazon for delivering it so quickly and one of the reviewers for suggesting reusing the oem seals. Please note the picture to the left as the connector is right beside the black hose with the green clip. From left to right the Dorman vs Motorcraft are identical. Unfortunately, the performance of the Dorman was just as bad as my worn out Motorcraft. Smooth at idle, but the shifting becomes erratic once in drive.

Quick fix for P1450, direct replacement for original part
Had the error code P1450 and sounds from rear quarter area. Replaced easily without tools in about 15 minutes. Cleared DTC error code and hasn’t come back. Idle is much smoother too!
