What I learned in super hot desert: Plants don't survive summers in pots, in Phoenix. They just don't. I got lucky, these arrived on a rare overcast day, I cooled plants down undisturbed in their shipping box indoors for a while, planted with great care in afternoon, in semi-sun - semi-shade spot, WELL watered area to cool ground, and they never even got wilty this time. Both plants doing great. I think once stevia are taken care of, they do fine, but no plants can handle over 100° temps for long. I will pot them again in winter, or maybe just give them lots protection for frost months. Review: A happy perkey little plamt. - A perky little plant, well rooted in what appears to be broken up tree bark. Will move to soil mixed with the bark in a larger pot in the morning. For now, it is waiting, well watered and draining nicely, in it's travel pot on the 4 season porch.

She ate it!
My sister actually asked for this. I had no idea why at the time, but seriously, she wanted to eat the leaves! They are rather tasty. Go figure. To each his own, as they say. I'm happy because she and her husband were happy with it!

They Do Not Know Their Plants!!! NOT STEVIA
This is showing unavailable since my 4 plant purchase 3/2017 and Hirt Gardens insisting that it is real Stevia. Apparently they have never tried true stevia leaves because there is no sweetness to these plants. They went by a picture of the plant and did not offer to satisfy my complaint. Do Not Buy From These People! Wasted $30 If you want a better review refund my money! Update Hirt Gardens did not refund my $30. I have attached a picture of their plant and a seed packet from a reliable source and as you can see the plant leaf isn't even the same! Save your money and go elsewhere! Plants may be healthy but they are NOT STEVIA

Finally looking good
When I opened the shipping container I was surprised with a small spindly plant! The plant was packed very well and was protected by 2 bamboo supports. I was disappointed to pay this much for this plant, but since then my plant has grown and grown! The main stem still only has some sparse leaves but the new growth is so lush. I was very happy that my plant arrived without bugs or disease.

Happy Customer
I am updating my review 12 days later: My 4 plants have doubled in size in 12 days. I have not fertilized them. I leave them in full sun and water them about twice a week. I will need to find them bigger pots soon. When I make ice tea I steep some leaves in with the tea, and it is very nice, not bitter. I live in Florida and don't know if I will leave them in full sun for the whole, hot summer, but for now they like it. It has been in the 80s here. Original review: My order came in 3 days and the 4 plants are in very good shape and between 4-6 inches tall. The soil was still a bit moist, so the plants are not even wilted. The leaves taste sweet and not at all bitter, like the white powdered stevia tastes -- making me realize how many chemicals I was eating before! I would order again!

Great healthy plant!
I was surprised at how big and healthy it was when it arrived. It is thriving in the summer Utah heat in a pot on my front porch.

It is what I thought it would be
I grow other herbs, why not one that supplies calorie-free sweetness? So for the cost of 2 packages of artificial sweetener, I bought 3 Stevia plants. They arrived in perfect condition, snuggled into Styrofoam peanuts, with the soil in their pots captured by a covering of masking tape. I gave one plant to a green-thumbed friend, just in case I accidentally managed to kill mine. One of my two is now in my herb garden, and the other is in the house, under lights. I've already taken a few cuttings to start even more plants. Stevia isn't winter hardy here, but the things I've read about it says that, as a tender perennial, it will probably struggle through winter indoors, and provide more cuttings in the spring. I've bookmarked the supplier, (http://www.hirts.com/) and if I need more plants, of Stevia or anything else, I'll check with them first. Very pleased.
