I am an intermediate adult, and have done center en pointe in the past. I do beginner pointe on and off these days for strengthening, but honestly prefer flats.First off, like everyone says, don't go on pointe without professional approval, you must fork out the money to get properly fitted, and you should ABSOLUTELY have a legitimate pair of pointe shoes, period.That said, these do work for certain circumstances.For reference I have: inflexible ankles, moderate arch, high profile, WIDE feet (EEEE in orthotic street wear, grishko xxxxx is too tight), short greek toes, narrow heel. My feet are a dancer's nightmare but they are incredibly strong.1) They "look" great if you have big/wide feet and larger stature. I did have to bend the shank. I did not need to break in the box, as it seems to be somewhat...cartilaginous/flexible in the vamp and then more solid toward the toe. These would drown narrow feet, low profile, and someone of slim/moderate frame.2) They came with one satin ribbon, sewn on loop style (wut?). No elastics3) Came with two sets of toe pads. One set was totally thick/stiff useless material, the other was actually kind of nice, thin, grippy (silicone?) that I like better than any pads I've tried! Sometimes I'll do a lesson without pads at all, just strategically placed duct tape or corn toe pads.4) Don't order a size up. Even with the widest feet (described above) the added sizing just means longer shoe; if your feet have any amount of compression to them, width won't matter.5) The vamp is probably too long for most. I chose these because in the picture it looks like the shortest vamp. Not the case. Star removed for that.Why bother with these ever?1)Good for working harder for tendu and plie (demi-pointe barre, floor barre).2) These are actually really great for practicing modifications if you have only had one or two pairs of pointe shoes and need more practice. I've practiced three modifications on these (vamp lowering, shank breaking/cutting, taking in fabric), as well as sewing ribbons in different ways I've wanted to try (you can do that on old shoes too, this is just an extra pair for practice). I don't darn, but that could be another thing. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful *by M***T on Reviewed in the United States on October 21, 2022* To be clear these are not profesional pointe shoes and I would not recommend them for ballet training, but they are beautiful pink satin and look great for photo shoots and props or just getting a basic idea of what pointe shoes are really like. I am not a ballet dancer but I do practice basic gentle ballet movements and do creative photo shoots. These are perfect for that. I wear a womans size 6 and bought these in Big Kids 4 1/2 which was a perfect fit. I first bought them in my real shoe size of 6 and had to reorder as they were far to big. So the reviews that claim they run small make no sense to me. The company is great and will allow returns so that you can get the right size. I have had a lot of fun with these and rise up on pointe with them for very short periods of time (as to not incur injury) to capture a photo or just breaking them in. I bought them for at home practice so I don’t wear down my expensive ones and they do the job well to a certain extent. But buy at your own risk!
